      About this trip

NYC TEA AROUND TOWN…Limited to 36 people!

      Tuesday May 28, 2024

TEA, TOUR, J. Pierpont Morgan Library AND BRYANT PARK

Join us on a journey of sight, sound - and of course taste, as you enjoy your own mobile tea room. Relax in this plush moving sanctuary amidst the city hustle, where it pairs exquisite teas with mouth-watering tearoom classics like scones, desserts and finger sandwiches as well as tea, coffee, and Champagne!. With a glass roof offering a wide field of view, and a bright, floral interior that puts Wonderland to shame, you’ll experience afternoon tea, NYC style, at its classiest.   See New York City landmarks, including NY Public Library, Grand Central Terminal, Columbus Circle, Radio City Music Hall, and more with live performance and narration.  After your 90 minute tour you will enjoy a visit to the Morgan Library historic rooms with beautiful architecture and art.   A museum and independent research library located in the heart of New York City, the Morgan Library & Museum began as the personal library of financier, collector, and cultural benefactor Pierpont Morgan. As early as 1890 Morgan had begun to assemble a collection of illuminated, literary, and historical manuscripts, early printed books, and old master drawings and prints. You will have access to the Library, by far the largest and grandest of the rooms in J. Pierpont Morgan’s Library. The walls, reaching to a height of thirty feet, are lined floor to ceiling with triple tiers of bookcases fashioned of bronze and inlaid Circassian walnut. Two staircases, concealed behind bookcases at the corners of the room, provide access to the balconies above. A pair of casement windows, incorporating fragments of stained glass, provides illumination from the north.. Time allowed in Bryant Park.

This trip was typical of what we have become used to from Garden State Getaways. Really five star entertainment, from the bus driver Eddie, to the trip leader Vicky, and the guest local guide. All were very polite and knowledgeable about the places we visited. The accommodations were really quite comfortable, and the dining selections were excellent. My wife and I are looking forward to our next trip with this fine organization to Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee.

It was a fun day - lunch was good and Vicki and our bus driver were excellent. Faith, thank you for honoring my request for seats closer to the isles. Where we were sitting was perfect. Hope to see you soon on another adventure. Nancy Bellezza

Loved the show our orchestra seats were in the rear but still had audio and visuals Acceptable. Paul’s the restaurant was fair. The food fills you but would never review as delicious.. This is the fourth visit ant Paul’s boring after the second time. Would delight in a different meal venue. If you were lucky and assertive you could trip a waiter to stop and take your request for coffee, a spoon or iced tea. The help scarce but kind and overwhelmed. I love going on these day trips so this would not deter me from continuing my loyalty to Garden State Getaways

We have been on numerous trips with Faith and they are always adventurous and well planned. This year started with the Kentucky Derby, Land and Cruise thru Alaska and the Mircle of Christmas in Lancaster Pa was a great way to wrap of the year. Can't wait for new adventures.
