✨ When Ski H3 was looking for a destination to top two beautiful years in Slovakia, one destination stood heads and shoulders above the rest: Bad Hofgastein. The jewel of Austria’s primo ski-region, the Gastein valley.
What could be more glorious than powder days in the Alps, overflowing tankards of beer, and thermal baths awaiting in the evenings to take the stiffness out of the old bones? Not much. The only trouble was that we weren’t sure if were biting off more than we could chew. Enter (*ahem*) Cum Chowder, who upon overhearing our discussion immediately said: “Let’s do this. Tell me what it will take to make this happen!”

We had been eying Austria’s primo ski-region as our next European ski destination – powder days in the Alps, tankards of cheap beer, hot tubs and thermal baths to unwind in – but we weren’t sure we could swing it. That all changed after a late night brainstorming session which birthed this unique sponsorship, and now we’re headed to the Gastein valley. Buckle Up!

The votes have come in and Salzburg is the clear winner.
Sloppy and Mr. Pink are excited to do a pre-lube for us and are organizing this separately. They are securing a hash hotel with a group discount rate for us near the train station, putting together a pub crawl and a trail for us. More info, price and dates will be provided.
This will be an add-on to the event and have it's own rego that you will pay to Sloppy and Mr. Pink.
Pub Crawl: Sloppy took us through Bratislava to fantastic pubs and has agreed to take us to Salzburg's finest dives in 2026.
Trail: Sloppy and Mr. Pink had so much fun with us in Bratislava they signed up to set another one for us in Salzburg.
The 4-star hotel is situated in a stunning location, with the ski bus stop right out front and an easy 10-minute walk to the gondola. The expansive thermal spa is just a 7-minute stroll from the hotel.

Setting a Hash Trail for the Wanks :)
You can bring your own skis or rent them. The best places I've found are Skirental & Service BERGLIFT, conveniently located right by the gondola, and Sport FLEISS Parkplatz Schlossalm, also near the gondola. This year, you'll be responsible for your own rentals. I will reach out to secure group rates for us as we get closer to the event.
I am working on quotes for a group travel insurance policy. This option would be more cost-effective per person and would cover unforeseen issues, accidents, and other related concerns.
Refunds and Cancellations:
• Full refunds will be issued minus €100 up until Oct 25th 2025.
• Oct 26th - January 3rd - 50% of your payment will be refunded.
• After January 3rd no refunds will be provided.
Trip and Travel Insurance It is highly recommended you purchase supplemental travel/trip insurance. Skiing is a high risk sport and having insurance that can medivac you out of Bad Hofgastein to a larger hospital in Vienna, Munich, or even back to the USA is highly recommended. Your US based insurance may or may not cover your care in the EU. The hospitals will make you guarantee payment prior to treatment so have all your international insurance card numbers with you and make sure you are covered before you are in the hospital and trying to figure out how to make an international call from the hospital.
Travel insurance should also cover you if you can't go and you are outside the refund window.

There is no team available 24/7 to assist with anything, this is a hash. I will do my best to follow up with anything that needs to be done and I promise to get back to you in a timely manner. Just remember I am probably working our out skiing.
I Started hashing over 12 years ago and as much as I love hashing my love for running was not as deep. When I moved to Tahoe I realized there wasn't a big ski hash anymore in the states. Durango had stopped putting one on and I was like wait, I live in one of the best ski destinations in the world. Why don't I do it. So that is how I started hosting ski hashes with Cheeks and SLuTsH3.
We have passed the torch on for the Tahoe ski hash and the Sacramento hashers have done a fantastic job so I can now focus on International Ski Trips. They allow me spend more time having fun with hashers and skiing.
Ski weeks are a total ball, that being said it is still a hash, nothing is perfect. I will do my best to mitigate any issues. I pick long standing highly reputable hotels, I use a trusted payment platform so you can pay with a credit card and on a payment plan. This way you feel confident you are not sending your hard earned money to some yokel who you hope isn't going to run off and buy a ski house in Europe, Canada, or Tahoe with it.
These trips are super fun and they are why I keep doing them year after year. I absolutely love the hash and I love skiing. At each ski week I am already looking forward to the next one.
