After breakfast we depart Bozeman and travel south, crossing from Montana into Wyoming through open ranch country toward the town of Cody.

Arrive in Cody, founded by Buffalo Bill himself, with time to explore the shops and galleries of its historic downtown before we settle into our hotel for a two-night stay.

Dinner is together this evening, our first taste of Western hospitality.

This morning we spend at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, five museums under one roof that together tell the story of the American frontier.

We board a narrated trolley for a tour of historic Cody, then enjoy free time among the shops and galleries of Sheridan Avenue.

Tonight we gather for a Western dinner and show, followed by the Cody Nite Rodeo beneath the evening sky.

After breakfast we depart Cody and climb toward the East Entrance of Yellowstone, crossing Sylvan Pass into the first national park in the world.

The afternoon belongs to Yellowstone — the wildlife of the Hayden Valley, the thundering Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and the lakeside boardwalks of West Thumb.

We arrive at Grant Village on the southern shore of Yellowstone Lake and settle into our lodge inside the park.

There is time to rest before a group dinner together.

After breakfast we travel to Yellowstone’s most famous sight, Old Faithful, where we time our visit for an eruption of the great geyser and take in the historic surroundings of the Upper Geyser Basin.

Continue south into Grand Teton National Park and set out on a gentle float down the Snake River, with the jagged Teton Range rising before us and wildlife along the banks.

Arrive in Jackson and settle in just off the famous Town Square, with its arches of elk antlers.

This morning we cross Jenny Lake by boat to the foot of the Teton Range, where a short path leads to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.

Over a group lunch at a lodge with sweeping views of the mountains, we take in the grandeur of the Tetons, then return to Jackson for time at leisure.

Tonight we gather for a farewell dinner to toast a memorable journey through the legends and landscapes of the West.
