Itinerary

9 Days Full Itinerary
Kenya safari jungle safari and Diani Beach holiday destination

Day 01: Arrive at JKIA Nairobi airport – Lake Nakuru National Park

Met on arrival at the airport by our representatives in the early morning and received a briefing about the jungle and beach tailor-made safari. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving for lunch at Sopa Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar. Enjoy your first game drive of your much-awaited safari. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Lake Nakuru overview: Nakuru National Park, is the park most famous for the colonies of flamingos that live on the shores of the park’s Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru Park Kenya is a premium game park, one of only three in the country and one of the most visited game parks in Kenya.

Lake Nakuru Park is known as a bird lover’s hub because of the numerous birds that make a home in this park. Lake Nakuru Kenya Park is home to over 400 bird species including the flamingos that live on the lake and in the park’s savannah grasslands.

Nakuru National Park though famous for its numerous birds, it’s also a wild game destination for animal lovers and wildlife explorers.  Lake Nakuru Park is a habitat to over 100 endangered  Rhinos distributed between the black and white rhinos; the park is also home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe and 50 or more animal species that include buffalos, waterbucks, lions, impalas, and many more.

Day 02: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Park

After breakfast, drive to Masai Mara, the leading wildlife destination in Africa. Arrive for lunch at the AA Masai Mara Lodge or similar. After lunch enter the park for your afternoon game drive and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Masai Mara overview: The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous parks. The wildlife viewing is superb throughout the year. The grassy plains and regular rainfall support a huge population of herbivores, in turn attracting many predators. All three big cats are relatively easy to see. The yearly wildebeest migration coming through the park is one of the world’s most amazing wildlife spectacles. The Wildebeest Migration – The Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is home to the annual wildebeest migration where 2.5 million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles follow the rains in search of new grass. They make their way from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara somewhere around July and August and usually arrive in September. The crossing of the Mara River along the way is one of the highlights of this spectacular event. They slowly head back to Tanzania around October. Even without the migration, the reserve is amazing for the resident wildebeests and all the other game that rank as the best.

Day 03: Masai Mara National Park

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in the Mara with a break to enjoy your parked lunch served packed. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 04: Masai Mara National Park – The Crescent Island – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, enjoy a short farewell animal viewing at the lake shore. Arrive for lunch at the Osotua Icon Resort or similar. You will then drive to the lake where a boat will be waiting to take you to the Crescent Island for a guided walking safari. Return to your resort for dinner

Crescent Island overview: Crescent Island Game Sanctuary is an island on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. A haven for giraffes, water-bucks, elands, wildebeests, zebras, impalas and hippos are among the wildlife one is likely to find at the conservancy.

Birds include fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters and many more. You get to enjoy fun activities offered by resorts in the island such as boat riding, mountain climbing, hiking, rock climbing, biking, and bird watching. The shores host abundant bird-life including pelicans, cormorants and fish-eagles with their haunting cry. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan Park, hence many film companies have been to the Island to film the herds of Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Zebra and Gazelle. The island is not fenced to allow the wildlife on the mainland to come in as they lose their habitat to development and the ever increasing population. Hippo graze all over us at night then sleep under the acacia or rest in the water by day.

Day 05: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, drive to Amboseli well known for photos with a backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the roof of African & the highest lone standing elevation on earth. Arrive for lunch at AA Amboseli Lodge or similar. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at your lodge

Amboseli National Park Overview: “Home of the African Elephant” – Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks.
The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. Amboseli offers great wildlife viewing, and four of the Big Five are present. Rhinos are absent, but big herds of elephants reliably move to and from the marshy swamps in the center of the park. Buffalo, wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra and gazelle are all very common. Lions are the easiest to spot of the big cats, but sightings are hit-and-miss.

Day 06: Amboseli National Park – Tsavo East National Park

Early breakfast then proceed on a farewell two how game drive in. Leave Amboseli for Tsavo East National Park arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner overnight at Voi Safari Lodge or similar.

Tsavo East overview: Tsavo East overview - “Theatre of the Wild” The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilomètres long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.
