COURSE FEATURES:
YOGA
- Learn how to create a personal daily yoga ritual through the application of Intelligent Yoga Sequencing
- Embody and honor the five great elements of nature: earth, water, fire, air, and space, to deepen your connection to yourself, the planet, and all beings, becoming a greater steward of the earth
- Learn the difference between lunar (ida) and solar (pingala) energies to help you live in harmony with nature
- Develop your confidence and communication skills through the arts of self-expression: speech, dance, journaling, and song
- Develop your knowledge of the asanas- how to, Sanskrit pose names, benefits, modifications, variations, counterposes, contraindications, and more
- Read and discuss the Yamas and Niyamas for a deeper understanding of yogic philosophy
- Learn to embody The Principles of Energetic Alignment
- Learn mindfulness and meditation techniques to soothe the monkey mind and tune into the inner wisdom of your incredible body
- Learn to utilize pranayama, chanting, mantra, and chakra practices to deepen your relationship with your subtle body
- Practice the modality of energy work to harness the wisdom of your body and source consciousness for personal healing
AYURVEDA
- Learn to honor and balance your unique mind-body dosha, or constitution, through the study the wisdom of Ayurveda- Yoga’s sister science and India’s ancient and holistic health system
- Study Ayurvedic theory including study of the doshas, agni, ama, ojas, diet, herbs, and dinacharya
- Practice the art of seasonal cleansing to remove toxins and give your body and mind a fresh start
- Cultivate dinacharya: ayurvedic morning and evening routines
- Integrate and apply the practical tools from Ayurveda that support holistic living in a way that is accessible and applicable to your personal life rhythm
THE ART OF TEACHING
- Study the art and arc of Prana Vinyasa wave sequencing: opening movement meditation, namaskars, waves, peak poses, counter-posing and lunar arts
- Study the mandala of asanas and learn how to see unique relationships within asana families and weave the krama of asanas throughout the arc of class
- Learn to modify asanas and sequences for all levels and abilities
- Learn to incorporate observation skills, hands-on adjustments, props, poetic and evocative cueing, music, and other tools to create yoga alchemy: a powerful setting for your students’ energetic and physical transformation
- Identify your ideal students and your personal niche in the yoga world
- Option to access the Yoga Alchemy online teacher’s portal with full-length videos, asana guide, photo documentation, full color e-books, and audio meditations
