Our training is held in beautiful Playa Negra, Costa Rica at Hotel Accommodations at Cafe Playa Negra, right next door to the town studio, and within a few minutes walking distance to the beautiful beach of Playa Negra.
At Cafe Playa Negra you will enjoy shared accommodations, equipped with a mini fridge, safe, and bathroom with hot water. Enjoy the use of the terrace and pool 24 hours a day.
The cafe has wifi, and an amazin menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you choose to not eat the included meals.

This 16 day Intensive (15 nights, 16 days), Yoga Alliance approved, 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is a foundational training rooted in the lineages of Hatha and Ashtanga yoga. This Yoga Alliance certified training will provide participants with the knowledge, practice, and experience to become creative, competent, and inspiring teachers.
The training is open to all, both those inspiring to become the next generation of dynamic teachers as well as to those simply wishing to immerse themselves in the practice of yoga. Those with injuries and health issues are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Students will be able to perform or guide a student into various asana (postures). Additionally, for each posture participants will know the safety precautions, modifications, contraindications, the proper alignment of the pose, and will feel confident offering hands-on-adjustments.
Pranayama: Effectively guide and practice various traditional pranayama exercise and effectively link movement with breath.
Bandhas: Understand the bandhas and how to apply them in their own practice as well as their student's.
Students should feel comfortable guiding a basic meditation practice and cultivating awareness and movement as meditation through a guided asana practice.
Students will be familiar with the 8 limbs of yoga and the ethical principles of yoga (the yamas and the niyamas). They will have a basic understanding of the history of modern yoga. They will be familiar with the classic yogic texts. Additionally, students will learn how to live a yogic lifestyle, taking their yoga off of their mats and into their day-to-day lives.
Students will be able to correctly identify the primary bones and muscles of the body. They will understand movement principles and how to prevent injury. Students will also have a basic understanding of the yoga energetic body (the chakras, nadis, and koshas).
Graduating teachers will feel comfortable leading a group, all-levels class. Students will be comfortable with sequencing, cueing, and leading. They will be able to guide students safely through a 60-minute alignment-based vinyasa class.
Students will grow their personal practice, develop their voice, and deepen their connection. They will learn to lead and to support their fellow teachers and community members.
