About this trip

THE 2025 HOUSTON QUILT FESTIVAL will be the BEST YET!

Each year, the Houston International Quilt Festival gets bigger and better and this year promises to be as exciting as ever as the city rolls out the red carpet to quilt enthusiasts.

It has been said that visiting the Houston International Quilt Festival is like visiting an art  museum. Each year, quilters from around the world have the opportunity to display their quilts and the final juried pieces are both unique and beautiful.  We have added this exceptional tour at the request of our international friends in Canada, Europe, Africa, New Zealand, Australia. the United Kingdom, and others; but we are happy for anyone to join us, no matter where you live.

We had a fantastic time! We took this same cruise the previous year with Deb, and enjoyed it so much we took it again this year! Good variety of instructors and projects, great communication from Deb. You can tell she really cares about the people on her trips! The machines and machine support they provide are excellent, and I would highly recommend one of her trips!

It was with excited anticipation that I joined the Hawaii Quilt Tour aboard the Holland America ‘Koningham’ at San Diego, as part of Deb Roberts Tours and it did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped on board, to the moment we disembarked 17 days later again at the Port of San Diego the service, accommodation, food, content of workshops and the beautiful islands of Hawaii were amazing. I would recommend this cruise as a fantastic adventure, I loved every minute. The only thing I would change next time would be making sure I prepared my sea legs !!!

The cruise was great. Good weather, good food, good friends. I don’t like the quilt format as well as other quilt cruises I’ve taken part in. I like having my own station for the entire time on board and being able to quilt whenever I want to. Having to cart all my projects back and forth was a bit of a pain. Nevertheless, I made the best of it and had an enjoyable cruise. The planned tours for quilters were great, and I enjoyed them.

Thank you Katherine. We appreciate your understanding that we need to work within the constraints of the ship and the classroom sizes. Take good care.

The first 2 days of the trip were overwhelming for me, because if the size of the ship. I got lost multiple times. After getting used to navigating the ship, I felt more comfortable. The Teachers for the quilting classes were fantastic. I learned so much, especially from Debbie Maddy. I’d take a class from her at any time. Ilaria was a bundle of energy and a source of knowledge as well. One of my other favorite things was Aaron, the gentleman who provided the Bernina machines and all the troubleshooting if we had questions or issues. Deb Roberts does an amazing job with coordinating and arranging everything. No detail is left incomplete. I personally think she is excellent with her coordinating & organizing skills. I’ve been to her Ireland trip and loved it, and I’m planning on doing Alaska this summer. I salute her!!
