We are a small village so there is no ATM machine so make sure you load up on pesos before you come out to Bahia Asuncion. Most places take credit cards but some smaller businesses do not. There is a gas station, grocery stores, mechanics, tire shop, welder, hospital & clinic, hyperbaric chamber, a few restaurants with fresh seafood and some food stands & carts.
We have several stores and services but bring your own specialty foods, liquor & medications as the choices are rather limited here.
Temperatures vary so make sure you bring both clothes for the beach and nice weather and warm clothes for the evenings. The wind comes up in the afternoons so kayaking, surfing, beach activities are best in the morning or at least before early afternoon. It lays down for beautiful Pacific sunsets...perfect for walking along the shoreline.
We have 2 active fishing cooperativas that have the rights to all the shellfish, lobster & abalone and it is a federal crime to people to take those products. You can buy seafood from the cooperatives and receive a legal receipt of proof of purchase. This is strictly enforced!
