About this trip

Join us for a memorable night in Brooklyn for a celebration of Palestinian culture and history through cuisine by Chef Saif Manna.

We would love to formally invite you to a specially curated plant-based five course tasting menu. This unique dining experience will not only be an opportunity to celebrate Palestinian culture and connect with like minded individuals, but also offer a glimpse into this vibrant cuisine that has been shaped by its geographical location, centuries of history, and the remarkable resilience of its people.

The cuisine will be a 5 course gastronomic adventure with dishes that blend time-honored recipes with a modern twist.

The details of the “sofra”, which means dining table in Arabic, but also more importantly implies generosity and hospitality, will be a closely guarded secret to ensure the freshest and most seasonal ingredients. There will be a tantalizing array of flavors, from the delicate nuances of our Amuse Bouche and array of family style (a Palestinian tradition) plates to the rich and comforting notes of our two main courses. The meal will end on a high note with a delectable dessert. The theme of the menu will be an elevated experience of grandma’s table with a holistic approach to all the ingredients to ensure minimum food waste. Finally, the night will conclude with a special token of appreciation that you’ll be able to take home with you. It will serve as a heartfelt reminder of the evening and the impact of your support.

Where will the money be going?

We are thrilled to be partnering with Denizens Society on this event. Denizens Society is a non profit based out of Cairo providing essential medical care, food, and shelter to recently evacuated Gazan refugees in desperate situations. All proceeds from the event will go to Denizen Society and for more info, check out @denizenssociety on Instagram. It is run by Palestinian American Rebecca Doudak (aka @bodegacatx on Instagram and TikTok). Feel free to check her channels out for more information as well.

About the chefs:

Chef Saif Manna is a self taught chef and baker who started cooking and baking starting at just 8 years old. Over the summer, he would visit his grandparents in Jordan and witnessing how they cooked traditional Palestinian food and their dedication to making everything from scratch nurtured Saif’s love for food even further. Saif always dreamt of one day having his own business and at the age of 22, he launched his popular Philadelphia based Levantine inspired bakery called Manna Bakery and seeks to continue his journey in the culinary world for as long as he can breathe.

Chef Abdalrahman Ayyad studied at Les Roches Culinary School in Jordan. He has years of experience working in Jordan , Hong Kong and New York City with chefs like Nobu and Jean-George. He is currently the Chef de Cuisine at Madre NYC.

One of my favorite travel experiences ever! Everyone was so genuine and welcoming, and I think I have made friends for a lifetime! THe itinerary was a good balance of structure and free time: interesting walking history tours, vegan food tours, beach/pool time, shopping, people-watching :) I miss it so much already and frequently find myself going through the pictures..

Trying my hardest to not come off as sappy and incredible — I truly had such a lovely time adventuring around a new place with wonderful foods and histories. And fostering genuine (lifelong 🤞🤞) connections with the kind, curious, beautiful people who were there with me to do the same. Could not have asked for a better time. Thanks, Anna for organizing a wonderful trip and being so attentive. Will 100% travel with you again!!!

Anna provided a really amazing experience for all the group, she is very attentive, organized, caring and most of all fun. She made really good choices pairing the roommates and taking care of the activities. She made the trip feel like we all were already good friends! I have so many fond memories of this trip, but mostly of the people, I will absolutely travel with her again. Anna’s vibes are 100% ;)

We were truly blown away at how much thought and passion went into this event. The food, the wine, the beautiful menus, the custom tote bags at the end — you could really feel the love that went into every detail. The food was INCREDIBLE. Every single dish. We also did the wine pairings and I had never tried Palestinian wine before, each one was delicious. I loved how the Chef explained the menu a bit in the beginning too. Thank you so much Anna and team for this celebration of Palestinian culture and cuisine. We’re so proud to have been part of it.

I just finished my first trip with Anna, Greece 2024, it was amazing. I knew I would have fun, make memories and eat delicious food, I mean that's what life is all about, right!?! What I didn't expect is how much this trip would impact me in so many ways. I met the most beautiful like minded people, we shared endless laughs and stories, we bonded over shared vegan experiences, travel stories, life events and drinks!! In 8 days we went from complete strangers to what I hope will be lifelong friends. I left feeling refreshed, inspired and fulfilled. Anna herself is a…I'm seriously having trouble putting it in words…she's more than meets the eye, she's beautiful inside and out, she's fun, smart, thoughtful and has a great sense of humor! Simply put, I adore her! But maybe I just got lucky, I left this trip with so much love for everyone I had the pleasure of spending the week with. It was as though she had picked a group of like minded people she knew would vibe perfectly. As far as the actual trip Anna planned, I loved that too!! We had amazing food at some wonderful places. We danced, we drank, we saw stunning sights and learned a lot about the rich history of Greece. Anna did a wonderful job planning this once in a lifetime experience for us and I have no doubt in my mind her trips will somehow continue to improve. I enjoyed this experience so much that I'm not even home from Greece and I'm looking into booking Guatemala with her in December! TLDR; would I recommend a trip with Anna, absolutely!!
