Welcome to the exciting world of surfing at La Posada! They're thrilled to accompany you on your first steps in the waves. This manual will provide you with the necessary information to start surfing safely and enjoyably.

Surf lessons: Immerse yourself in the world of surfing by learning the basic fundamentals. In the gentle Costa Rican waves, they'll teach you how to paddle efficiently, position yourself on the board, and stand up with confidence. Santa Teresa is famous for its smooth and consistent waves, perfect for beginners who are taking their first steps in surfing.

-Class 1: Introduction to Surfing

Objectives:

*Familiarize yourself with the surfing equipment (board, leash, wax).

*Learn basic paddling techniques and board positioning.

*Practice standing up on the board on the shore.

Description:

*In this first class, they will introduce you to the world of surfing and familiarize you with the basic equipment. You'll learn how to paddle correctly and how to position yourself on the board to catch waves. Additionally, you'll practice the technique of standing up on the board on the shore, so you feel comfortable and secure before entering the water.

-Class 2: Reinforcing the Basics

Objectives:

*Reinforce paddling and board positioning techniques.

*Practice standing up on the board in shallow waters.

*Catch your first waves and ride the foam.

Description:

*In this second class, you will focus on perfecting the techniques learned in the first class. They'll reinforce paddling technique and board positioning, helping you feel more confident in the water. You'll learn to catch small waves and ride the foam while practicing standing up on the board in shallow waters.

-Class 3: Advancing in the Water

Objectives:

*Improve standing up technique on the board.

*Catch and ride green waves (without foam).

*Practice directional control and maintaining balance on the board.

Description:

*In this third class, you'll focus on perfecting the technique of standing up on the board and riding green waves (without foam). They'll help you identify suitable waves and guide you to catch and ride them with confidence. Additionally, you'll practice directional control and balance on the board, while having fun exploring the waves.

With these  classes, you'll be ready to embark on your exciting journey into the world of surfing! Always remember to practice with a qualified instructor and follow safety rules in the water. In between classes the instructor and participants will analyze the performance through video and photo analysis.

If you haven't bought your tickets yet, it would be great that you arrive really early in the morning so you can come the same day, or maybe a day before to sleep the first night and come here the next day during the morning.

*From La Posada to San Jose (San Jose Airport) 6:30 am aprox and 3:30 pm aprox (around 6 hours)

*From Liberia Airport to La Posada 12:30 pm aprox (around 6 hours )

*From La Posada to Liberia Airport 6:30 am aprox (around 6 hours)

The other option is a charter flight directly from SJO to Cobano/ from Cobano to SJO that takes 30 minutes.
