September 15

What’s better than mountains, motorcycles, and rugged off-road terrain? How about mixing those on an immersive off-pavement tour/training experience with industry-renowned adventure riding instructor/guide and Host of MOTOTREK, Dusty Wessels, and BMW-Certified Off-Road Instructor and 2010 GS Trophy U.S. team member, Bill Dragoo. West38Moto and D.A.R.T. (Dragoo Adventure Rider Training) have teamed up to bring you a professional off-road training immersion tour of six days riding the rugged mountains and trails of Colorado and Utah. This immersion tour is intended for intermediate and advanced level riders.  The group will meet in Buena Vista, CO for the start of the event (exact meetup location shared upon booking). You will spend six days riding some of the best trails in Buena Vista and the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, San Juan Mountains of Colorado and around Moab, UT!

Adventure riding in Colorado offers some of the most sought-after experiences in the nation, maybe even the world. West38Moto’s roots are firmly planted in the Colorado backcountry since before it was cool, from north to south and west of I-25. Some of the most breathtaking views come from atop the multitude of 12,000+ mountain peaks. Between winter snowfall and summon monsoons, many of these mountain passes evolve and never look quite like they did the last time.

Riding in Utah’s high desert mountains to prehistoric desert bluffs, from dramatic rivers valleys to endless skies, your senses will be overwhelmed with unforgettable sunsets and a taste of just how much more you’ll want to discover. Utah offers some of the most diverse riding opportunities in the West and some of most memorable adventures that can only been experienced by motorcycle.

Join us on this 6 day 7 night Colorado and Utah Adventure tour! We will ride sections of the Colorado BDR and the Utah BDR to experience some of the best riding of both of BDR’s!

This tour will be a mix of staying in nice hotels and experiencing camping in the great outdoors! Also, we will be camping at established campgrounds so, if tent camping isn't your thing, no problem, let us know and we can assist with a cabin reservation.

This is your event. We are here to help you succeed in your own way. West38Moto offers a different experience than other off-road motorcycle training and tour companies. We recognize that not everyone functions well outside their comfort zone, while others want to be pushed out if it. People learn at different speeds, in distinctive ways, and will reach individualized goals. Because everyone has to start somewhere, our focus is on teaching off-road fundamentals at your pace and expanding the size of your comfort zone.

The dirt conditions were epic. The guides were super-fun. The hotels were supreme. The food was amazing (everyone gained weight!) And of course getting to know our fellow travelers made many precious memories for us. Thanks John, Randy, and Dusty of West38Moto for another fantastic adventure. This trip was so much fun, I signed up for the next 8-day Baja Tour!

This is my first trip with Dusty and crew and first time riding in Baja and all I can say is the entire experience exceeded all of my expectations. The riding, accommodations, food, everything was top notch and the way Dusty kept things exciting for all levels of rider abilities was amazing. He is a true pro and I would highly recommend this trip for anyone looking to do a group tour to Baja.

This was the most challenging tour I have done. The training and training tour were invaluable in preparing me for the harder sections of the BDR’s. It is amazing how much abuse these bikes and riders can safely take. Dusty and his crew made accommodations for the various bikes and riding styles while not adversely affecting the group ride. I recommend West38Moto for all ADV riders that want to see beautiful scenery and improve their riding skills. Finally, Dusty’s enthusiasm, optimism, and encouragement were contagious. Thanks for the great trip.

I am so happy I found West38Moto online and took their 2 day Level 2 training, followed by the 1 day ride. I like that Dusty and his trainers genuinely love what they do and that is infectious. Every one of the trainees had a positive attitude and had a good time, with no pressure, but lots of encouragement. I liked that the company focuses on what they are good at (training) and doesn't try to do everything. The location and training environment was ideal with the land owners' participating in every activity and spending time with us in a very gracious way. This was my first real trip on my adventure bike after several years of ownership and I now know more about what it (and I the rider) are capable of. Thank your for everything and I'll look for future opportunities to join trainings or guided rides. Tom H.

It was an amazing experience. The staff were all very knowledgeable and made sure to give direct feedback for each rider. The groups were small enough that we had 1 instructor per 4 students. The camping was very fun and the route that I would recommend over staying in a hotel. It made speaking with other students before and after class easier for me. Everything was an amazing educational experience that I will definitely recommend to others.

Amazing class. I had Dusty and Matt for my adv training. I'd originally signed up for level 1 but Dusty helped sort me into the Level 2 group which we agreed was more appropriate and my best learning environment. Dusty is fantastic instructor and was as attentive and knowledgeable. When asked a question you can tell you get Dusty's full attention, he stops whatever he is doing and focuses completely on you and your needs providing thoughtful and thorough answers. Matt as well provided very insightful alternative comments and helped setup the drills while providing a different take and personal experience to each lesson. The class was completely safe and done professionally with highest regard to student learning and safety. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone to this class beginner or advanced. You will learn and have fun here. During a 1 day ride post-class, when the trail got tougher than expected, I never doubted the Dusty had the ability and knowledge to handle any situation adventure could throw at us. Which it did with tough trails, medical issues, heat related dangers, etc. in the AZ desert. Dusty had my complete trust not only in my personal safety but in the techniques he was teaching and I have very high standards. If you are new to a adv class then this is perfect and you will be handled with white gloves and learn everything you need to be a better safer rider. If you are an advanced rider then you will dial in your techniques with the their teachings and become an even more competent rider. I have nothing negative to say about the training or class. Great job and I will be doing a BDR with Dusty and\or Matt soon and looking forward to the experience. I have no doubt I will continue to sign up for training, BDRs, and anything else West38moto has to offer as my funds and time allow for years to come. Thanks Matt and Dusty, looking forward to riding again with you.
