Everything you need, nothing you don't.

Mountain bike holidays are a lot like pizzas.

Everyone has their tastes and preferences. Some like a lot of toppings, or a very specific combination of ingredients to make their "perfect pizza". Others are purists, they don't need a lot of toppings to be happy. A plain old Neapolitan is all they need to have an amazing meal. The Essential package is like a Neapolitan pizza. The basics, nothing more, nothing less.

We realised that everyone has their idea of what a holiday needs. Some only want the basics, because they can take care of the rest. Or they are looking at a more affordable option for a mountain bike holiday. They can organise the toppings themselves. That's all fine.

This is where the Essential Package comes in. We give you everything you need to have a good stay and explore Stellenbosch without any extra "toppings". Bring your bike and your friends and ride all day, explore the trails and the town and see what it offers.

But remember, you are still welcome to order any specific extras that you would like, to create your perfect mtb holiday!

Arrival Day
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport.

Ideally, you arrive in the morning or around noon by the latest, where possible.

Settle in. Unpack. Get comfortable.

Depending on your flight arrival time, you will have time to enjoy lunch in town and collect your bike from Specialized (if you are hiring a Specialized bike).

After lunch, we take you to Specialized to collect your bike, enjoy a coffee, and have a look around.*

Cycle back to your guesthouse.

*This may vary depending on individual groups and arrival times. If there’s time to go to Specialized, we’ll take you there to get your bike set up. Otherwise, it will be waiting for you in your room on arrival.

JONKERSHOEK
A lush valley upstream of our town. Warm up to the Nature reserve gate where numerous single tracks combine into a network with pristine views. Your guide will take you to both sides of the valley doing reds and blues. Ride back to town and enjoy a lunch/wine tasting at the iconical Lanzerac Wine Estate and boutique hotel. Hint: try out the sumptuous Chocolate and wine pairing.

APREZ-BIKE (1)
Stellenbosch Vineyards. On our first apres-bike day, we leave the many options over to you. We suggest no biking today, instead, have a great day out with any of our suggestions on our page related to our non-biking activities. For instance, how about having a cultural township visit on the edge of our town, after which we all go to a typical wine farm with excellent lunch facilities!

UPPER BLAAUWKLIPPEN
Ride the vineyard single tracks. This is our flagship Shiraz terroir. We start the day with the technical Mont Marie trails, followed by Dornier`s trails which carry on forever. After descending Stellenzicht, the Wine Pod might stop you in your tracks. There is still Alto and the sporty-themed Ernie Els Wine Estate. Lunch venues are plenty on the route.

BANHOEK
This is the South African trail at its best. After the early morning-long climb out of the valley, you certainly will be rewarded with a combination of incredible vistas and mouth watering smooth-manicured single tracks. Rocky drops and table jumps pops up from nowhere and once you are back onto the valley`s side a long.

APREZ-BIKE (2)
Cape Town. Our proud Mother City is not to be missed. A brisk 45-minute journey takes you to the heart of Cape Town. There is plenty to see in this historical city. Majestical Table Mountain waits to be conquered. So our challenge to you is to take it on. Climb Platteklip Gorge and descend the Cable cart. Then it is off to the Waterfront for lunch… we bet you will stay for dinner.

HOMEWARD BOUND
One last waltz… After your final breakfast, there will be time for a quick ride or shopping spree in town. Then it is time to pack the bike or hand it in before your transport back to CT International Airport.
