Located just outside the Mayan indigenous village of San Marcos la Laguna, Casa Paloma has been lovingly developed for over 20 plus years as a luxury retreat center and gathering place for groups to come together to practice yoga, swim, kayak, hike, share wonderful meals and explore the Mayan world.
The village of San Marcos—a ten minute walk from the property—offers a wide range of healing opportunities as well as lively restaurants, cafes purveyors of local crafts and a small nature preserve.

Start your day with morning meditation, a hike, jump right off of Casa Paloma's own private dock into Lake Atitlan, or a cup of coffee in the Rose & Hammock garden. Daily yoga (2x/day) in a tranquil open-aired yoga shala, gourmet farm to table meals, , massage dock, , and the list goes on... but most importantly connect with an amazing group of like-minded people. There will be a daily schedule of activities that you can do as much or as little as you want!

TRAVEL: FLIGHTS
Fly into Antigua International Airport (ANU-V. C. Bird International Airport) on Jan. 17, 2026
We will spend one night in Antigua (welcome dinner included)
We will return to Antigua on Jan. 24th.

YOGA
We will start our days with a power yoga class then a late afternoon flow & restore, meditation or group activity with Shawna. Yoga is located in a stunning open-air shala with lake and volcano views.
FOOD
Local Chef Rosa Maribel Navichoc and her team will create delicious, fresh and healthy meals- prepared with locally-grown produce and herbs.

SPA
A second dock on the far side of the property can be set up for massage (with privacy curtains). There’s also a table and chairs for dining or a glass of wine or a smoothie.
There is a vintage wooden cayuco boat that hangs from the rafters of the massage dock roof where you can sit and swing or take in the sunset.
($50 gift certificate for each guest to put towards a massage or extra excursion)

Estrella is decorated with the work of local artisans. This one includes antique furnishings, a giant wooden bull head mask over the fireplace, antique chest, and a highly detailed antique replica of a church that serves double duty for storing your possessions. The high desk, facing the lake, was made from a repurposed antique ironing board.
Estrella’s private bathroom features a deep soaking tub overlooking the lake—particularly soothing, with candles lit, when the stars are out—that opens onto an outdoor patio with a hammock, an outdoor shower and seating. The room shares an outdoor fireplace with the inhabitant(s) of Pajaro.
Guests considering this room should be advised there are no curtains—not a privacy issue, but the sun will greet you.

This magical room at the very top level of the main Villa –accessed by a set of circular stairs--features a skylight, built-in avocado wood bench, antique carved chest, and a large balcony with seating for two. Because Pajaro is nestled in among the trees (but with an unimpeded lake and volcano view), guests who stay in this room will wake to birdsong.

2-Two double beds

2- QUEEN BEDS
This lovely ground-floor room was named for a large original art work by a local painter featuring the small motorized vehicles known as tuk tuks that transport people into town. The room has a large built-in desk and an abundance of hand-crafted art.
The room faces a wall of windows looking out to a private patio with hanging basket chair and built in bench seating. Patio leads to the bathroom, with more great views.
This room has curtains to block the morning sun. Tuk tuk is the one room on the property with poor wifi access, but wifi is available on the patio right outside.

Azul sits right at the water’s edge. Sleep with the French doors open and you’ll hear the water lapping on the shore and wake to the birds. Azul has its own private veranda and shares an organic bathroom/shower with the casita below, Piedra.

Directly below Azul, this unique room is built all of local stone, with hand-carved stone heads built into the walls. The handmade double bamboo doors open directly to your private beach for early morning or late night swims, or kayaking.

Named for a memoir written by the owner/founder of Casa Paloma, this casita features a handmade avocado wood desk and a veranda with coffee wood railings looking out to the garden, lake and volcano. Decorated with local textiles and masks, this casita has its own private bathroom/shower with hand painted ceramic sink from a local pottery and a private outdoor writing table.

1- QUEEN BED
Named for the most recent novel by the owner/founder of Casa Paloma, this casita has a particularly cozy, rustic feel, with ship-style windows that open by pulley, an antique hand-carved armoire, a desk and hand-painted chair overlooking lake and volcano, and hand carved wooden owls made by a local craftsman gracing the ceiling beams. This casita has its own private bathroom/shower with volcano view.

2- QUEEN BEDS
This two-story house, designed by the owner’s architect daughter-in-law from Los Angeles and named for her newborn daughter, melds modern style with traditional elements of gorgeous adobe and stone walls, interior garden, ceramic tile floors, and thatch roof. Casa Una is on main floor of house.
High ceilings, a private lake and volcano view verandah, and handmade furniture from a local craftsman. Private bathroom: private outdoor shower, private garden, and a 7-person jacuzzi, surrounded by a hand-built stone wall covered with plants and flowers. The jacuzzi has a separate entrance that allows other retreat guests to use it.

The most private of our villas, The Bird Nest overlooks the lake and volcano with its own custom kitchen, verandah, private garden/dining area, spectacular soaking tub under an outdoor palapa. Built with highest quality mahogany and conacaste wood, custom stonework, bedding and attention to detail, this little house would be the ideal for a relaxing getaway.

This is for a guest who will NOT be participating in the yoga shala classes. Package includes 3- meals a day at Casa Paloma, all included excursions, and transportation to and from Antigua.
