About this trip

Have you ever travelled to 3 countries in 1 week? We have mastered the art of country-hopping in Southern Africa. Join us for an adventure across South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This trip will include nightlife in Johannesburg, a sighting of one of the seven world wonders, Victoria Falls, locally called Mosi-oa-Tunya ‘Smoke that Thunders’ from both the Zambia and Zimbabwe perspectives, and a luxury safari in Zimbabwe.

About our destinations

With this trip, we are making off-the-beaten-path accessible. We will visit two countries within the Kaza conservation region: Zambia and Zimbabwe, plus South Africa. In a place near Kazungula, four countries meet where the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers converge to form one border connected by the Kazungula Bridge Project. On our trip, we will visit two of these four countries.

Our base will be in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, what many consider to be the most lively of the cities within the Kaza region. We will organize a day trip to Livingstone, Zambia (15-minute drive).

Highlights from previous trips

Target traveler

We have thoughtfully curated a purpose-filled itinerary for women who travel for more than just the gram. If you’re looking for a little adventure and wide-eyed wonder to delight your soul, this trip is for you. If you enjoy having deep conversations with women who encourage the quieter parts of your personality to pop, this trip’s for you. If you want to spend a week celebrating the women of South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe who are working together to build a more equitable future for the next generation, this trip is most certainly for you. We cater to women of all ages, at varying life stages and have designed the itinerary with this in mind.

How to get there

Airport: JNB (Johannesburg, South Africa)

  • You can book your own flight directly to Johannesburg.
  • We can help you find well priced tickets with our in-house travel concierge.

Visas

The following citizens can travel visa-free to South Africa and as of October 1 2022 can also travel visa-free to Zambia:

  • United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union

A visa is required for Zimbabwe. You may obtain the Kaza Univisa for $50 on arrival in Zimbabwe at VFA airport. The visa is valid up to 30 days and will be needed to re-enter the country on your day trip to Zambia.

If you are not eligible for the Kaza Univisa, you can follow this link to apply for a Zimbabwe e-visa. If this is confusing, don’t worry. Your booking includes a 30-minute visa & travel consultation.

Weather

What to expect of Zimbabwe in July:

  • Cool and pleasant temperatures: high of 77°F (25°C) and a low of 43°F (6°C)
  • Best time for viewing the Falls as there is enough water in the Zambezi to make it picturesque, but not too much that you see nothing but white mist
  • Great time for water based activities as there’s enough water for boats to float but not too much that it’s dangerous
  • Best time for a lush safari experience and lots of game viewing

Cancellation policy

  • Deposit refund policy: Please note that deposits are non-refundable after 5 days. Before that, you can get a full refund minus a service fee of $200.
  • General refund policy: May 31st 2023 is the last possible day to request a refund of 50% in travel credits (excluding the deposit which is non-refundable) towards a future Girls Trip Tours experience until 30 days before the start date of your scheduled trip. This is my second Girls Trip Tours adventure with a group of Black women I just met this week—and once again, it’s been absolutely phenomenal! Temi has mastered the art of curating experiences that resonate deeply with Black women seeking to find their place, connect with their tribe, immerse themselves in rich cultures, and feel truly seen. If you're craving that kind of transformative journey, don’t walk—run—to Girls Trip Tours. I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced not just this extraordinary trip to Cape Town, where I witnessed the vibrant flourishing of Black excellence, but also an unforgettable solo journey through Kenya. Through Iranti, Girls Trip Tours helped me explore two cities in Kenya with seamless planning and care. These experiences have made me prouder than ever to be African and a traveler exploring the beauty of our continent. Temi and her team have exceeded my wildest dreams. I’m already counting down to the next adventure. Thank you, Girls Trip Tours. Thank you, Temi. This is more than travel—it’s a celebration of sisterhood, culture, and joy!

The trip was one of a life time. Even though I was skeptical at first it turned out to be above my expectations. The tours, the food, the host and tour guides made the experience extra special . I’d recommend it to anyone who likes to travel in style.

This was an unforgettable trip for me and my best yet - the meals, activities and of course the people on the travel group made this so special. The Girls MAP activity where we got to meet and mentor student girls impacted me deeply and I’m so glad I got that experience. Cape Town is a beautiful city with a complex socioeconomic/race construct and I love that this trip focused on uplifting the black experience. Girls Trip Tours did an amazing job curating the itinerary. Having someone else plan the trip took out all the stress and has now informed how I want to travel going forward lol. I’m looking forward to going back to Cape Town now and joining future Girls Trip excursions. Thank you to a great team and to my fellow travelers who brought laughter, good vibes, stimulating conversation and unforgettable memories!

It was a great trip. It was my third time in Cape Town and I still got the chance to see it in a new and exciting way. It was my best visit yet. The personalized touches and hard work in the background were evident. Would definitely recommend traveling with Girls Trip Tours.

What an experience! It was beyond my expectations, from the hotel amenities, food, trip location, and the organization! I'm a seasoned traveler and I didn't have to worry about anything, I just needed to book my ticket to JoBurg and everything else was taken care of! I tend to be a traveler that appreciates food, people and culture, the Safari trip covered all of that and gave me an added appreciation for nature, something I didn't expect to enjoy so much! Finally, if you're about supporting women-run businesses and leaders, empowering girls, and connecting with Africa in a way that is meaningful and fully represents the beauty of the African continent, sign up for a Girls Trip Tour! I feel like I didn't do this justice, but the food was DELISH! Go ready to eat and gain a few pounds, it's totally worth it! Thank you, Temi, Tlotso and Bichri for making this a memorable trip!

This trip went beyond my expectations (even though I already knew it was going to be amazing). As a seasoned traveler, I generally shy away from group travel, especially with strangers but this trip changed my perspective. Everything was advertised as better and there was such a right mix of activity, down time, cultural immersion and social impact. From the first point of communication to depature, Temi and her network of colleagues handled everything beautifully. I enjoyed the opportunity to visit Cape Town for the first time and loved being able to experience it at such an elevated level. I'm already sure that I will hop on a trip next year and bring some friends along with me!

Girls Trip was the time of my life! At first I was a bit intimidated by the high cost. However, during the trip with our personal photographer, the endless meals, and all-day driver made every moment perfect. I loved the mentoring aspect of the trip and still keep in touch with some of the girls. This was my first time in West Africa and it made me so excited to return. There was so much inspiration, self-love, and joy surrounding this trip. Temi was a great host and it was even more exciting to get to meet the local influencers. On top of that it was such a weight off of our shoulders to not have to plan anything, but instead just show up and enjoy the incredible activities Temi had lined up. We also felt like we were in good hands and I can’t wait for the next trip!

Eyitemi curates probably the best women-only trips I have ever been on. Beyond the attention to detail for each day of the trip, she puts coins in the pockets of women-led entreprises, from hotels and travel guides to social entreprises. I love that intentionality because she walks the talk and makes a noticeable difference in the countries and communities she brings us to. I travelled with her in Kenya and this remains a wonderful memory to date. From mentoring sessions with emerging tech leaders in Nairobi to luxurious stays and sailing in the Lamu Archipelago, Eyitemi ensured that every thing ran seamlessly from day 1 to the end. Book that trip!! It is more than worth it.
