About this trip

Escape with Esther Collinetti, Co-Founder of REV Cycle Studio and Founder of YOU Unleashed, to Lake Atitlan, a stunning crater lake located in the heart of Guatemala.

This retreat will provide you with the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, take spin classes overlooking majestic volcanoes (how cool is that!?), all while connecting with yourself and your new tribe.

Your trip begins with an overnight stay in the colonial city of Antigua, where the group will gather. We will then make our way to Lomas de Tzununa, a lakefront hotel with a relaxing vibe, stunning views of Lake Atitlan, and your personal spin studio!

This retreat is aimed towards self-care, deep-connections, igniting courage, sweating once a day, and expanding on your 2020 vision and goals. Days by the lake will be filled with sunrise or sunset spin classes led by Esther, as well as core / full body workouts, and mindful stretching. Esther will also offer one open water swim practice at the lake for those interested in learning techniques of open water swimming for your next triathlon race. This retreat will feature YOU Unleashed Workshops to identify your core values, your why in life, and your fears that hold you back in order to chart a path to unleash your most badass self.

You will also enjoy locally sourced meals, and plenty of time for relaxation amongst the stunning hillside grounds of Lomas de Tzununa and Lake Atitlan. Our hotel features an on-site pool, temazcal sauna, and restaurant / lounge area, all available for you.

Your week will include plenty of opportunities for kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding, horseback riding, zip lining, as well as on-site cooking classes and volunteering at a local preschool. Boat rides are readily available to visit neighboring villages and experience local food, markets, and some of the best textile and arts shopping in Central America.

Come experience Guatemala with an amazing group of people. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your space on this retreat.

Flight Parameters

Please make sure you adhere to the following flight parameters in order to take advantage of our included airport transfers:

You will be flying into Guatemala City airport (GUA) on February 15th.

We will be shuttling people from the airport to our hotel in Antigua, and from there you will have the afternoon and early evening to explore the city. We will gather for dinner around 6pm, so please book a flight that arrives into GUA by 4pm at the latest if you want to join the group dinner.

Please note that one of our SolSeed representatives will be greeting you at the airport on February 15th, and will be there from roughly 11am - 4pm helping shuttle people to Antigua. If you arrive prior to or after that time frame, it's not a problem. We can help arrange a transfer for you, but please note it will run you $10 - $45. Uber is also available in Guatemala City, and is a safe and easy way to get to Antigua. If you want more time to explore Antigua, we recommend booking a flight that gets in earlier in the day, as we will be departing for Lake Atitlan early Sunday morning.

For your return flight, please book flights out of GUA that leave no earlier than 12pm on February 22nd in order to take advantage of our included transfer. If you book an earlier flight, you will be responsible for paying for an additional transfer from Lake Atitlan to the airport, which can run you up to $150.

What a truly stress free trip. Grace and Alex were excellent with anticipating needs, from arranging to have coffee purchased in one town delivered to our hotel to making our trips dreams come true sorting a farm visiting, where a friend of the retreat group was volunteering at. This above and beyond care to execute an excursion not in their typical menu of activities was amazing. Alex even indulged us in a trip to his local town's hot springs after a few of us had researched them. Grace was a transit wizard always having boats and vans booked for us when needed.

Panama is an exotic and a beautiful country. Local people are kind and helpful. Group of people we were traveling with are old friends that made this trip easy and pleasant. As per accommodation, I would recommend to take care of cockroaches that appeared in our room, and especially bathroom, every night. I was very concerned not to bring them home. Also, room for three people, ideally, could be bigger size.

Lovely location. The hosts Augusto and Anita were top notch and the chef Nicole was phenomenal. The casitas were nice but no air conditioning was challenging during the day as it got quite humid. There were cockroaches in the casita at night but we were in the middle of the jungle so it was to be expected. I wish more excursions were included in the package given the price but the additional costs were reasonable. The massage therapist Maria was phenomenal and reasonably priced for her fantastic massages. The food was yummy, not fancy but ample portions unlike in the Azores property.

This trip reminded me that, in the end, it’s all about the people. Kevin and the Sol Seed team brought everyone together with a perfect balance of organization and laid-back energy. We had the chance to immerse ourselves in the culture, and the team made made sure our dollars went back into the community. I really appreciated that level of intentionality from the organizers.

This was one of the best trips of my life! The accommodations, excursions, food and people were truly delightful. I was so impressed by how well it was organized. I can’t wait to go on another adventure!
