While the tour offers many unique scheduled experiences, its casual structure also provides daily opportunities for guests to adjust the plans to match their interests and desired speed and intensity.
IDENTIFICATION ~ A valid passport is required.
ALTITUDE ~ Guatemala City: 4,921 ft ~ Antigua: 5,069 ft ~ Lake Atitlán: 5,125 ft
WEATHER ~ Because both Antigua and Lake Atitlán are in the mountains, their weather and temperatures are moderate year round. Typical July daytime temperatures are in the lower 80s, nights in the low 60s.
PHYSICAL EXERTION ~ Moderate Exertion (3 of 5) – This tour requires some physical agility to be able to get in and out of the small taxi boats as they bob up and down in the waves. It also requires some stamina to walk at a leisurely pace on hilly cobblestone streets for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. There are opportunities for more strenuous hikes, mountain climbing experiences, and swimming for those interested.
MEDICAL FACILITIES ~ During most of the tour, major medical facilities will be more than two hours away.
The departure day of the Guatemala Antigua & Atitlán tour adjoins the arrival day of the Guatemala Tikal tour (25-07-12-GT-TIK), making it easy to do them together and receive an extra night of accommodations at no additional cost. Simply book both tours and we'll take care of combining the packages and reserving your extra night at the hotel.
