3-Day Ghana Tour: History, Heritage, and Culinary Adventures

Day 1: Accra History Exploration

Morning:

• Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Independence Square, where you’ll uncover Ghana's fight for independence and the visionary leadership of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
• Capture stunning photos at the iconic Black Star & Independence Arch, symbols of freedom and hope.
• Immerse yourself in the lively Jamestown district, exploring vibrant street art, historic sites, and the traditions of the Ga community.

Late Afternoon:

• Tour the W.E.B. Du Bois Museum, where you’ll learn about his legacy as a Pan-Africanist and his lasting impact on Ghanaian history.

Evening:

• Enjoy your first taste of Ghana with dinner at a local restaurant, savoring dishes like Jollof Rice and Kelewele.
• Overnight: Relax at your Airbnb.

Day 2: Accra’s Vibrant Culture and Cuisine

Early Morning:

• Explore a bustling local market, immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of daily life while browsing fresh produce, spices, and handcrafted goods.

Mid-Morning:

• Dive deeper into Accra’s history with a visit to Jamestown, learning more about the traditions of the Ga people and their cultural contributions to the city.

Afternoon:

• Discover the rich flavors of Ghanaian cocoa at the Bioko Chocolate Experience, where you’ll learn about the cocoa industry and sample artisanal chocolate.
• Indulge in a Ghanaian buffet lunch, exploring the history and flavors of traditional dishes like Fufu, Banku, and more.

Evening:

• Enjoy free time to reflect on the day’s adventures or explore Accra at your leisure.
• Overnight: Rest comfortably at your Airbnb.

Day 3: Cape Coast – History and Heritage

Morning:

• Depart early for Cape Coast, stopping at Assin Manso to visit the Slave River and the burial site of enslaved ancestors. Experience a moving moment of reflection on the resilience and strength of those who came before.

Afternoon:

• Tour the Cape Coast Dungeon, learning about the harrowing experiences of those impacted by the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
• Time permitting, continue to the Elmina Dungeon, where the echoes of history resonate within its ancient walls and tour of the fishing community.

Evening:

• Return to Accra with time to reflect on the day’s powerful experiences.

BOOKING AND CONDITIONS:  A non-refundable deposit of $250.00 per person is required at the time of booking.  Final payment must be made no later than 30 days prior to departure. Payments received after the deadline date will be subject to $50.00 administrative fee. 

H.I.M. TOURS reserves the right to cancel without refund any passenger NOT paid in full 30 days prior to departure. Reinstatement of a passenger is considered a last minute booking. Last minute booking, 30 days or less prior to departure will have to pay the applicable airfare at the time of booking and $250.00 to cover administrative costs.   

REFUNDS All payments to HIM Tours Ghana are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is due to HIM Tours Ghana's contractual agreements with hotels, airlines and other vendors that will not allow us to obtain any refunds. This will allow us to price our packages competitively and allows for you to make monthly payments on your vacation.  However, HIM Tours Ghana will provide a travel credit if the trip is suspended by the company. Any travel credit must be used within 12 months from the date the credit is issued.

TRAVEL PROTECTION IS REQUIRED: No refunds for services or sightseeing rendered and not used by tour members. H.I.M. Tours Ghana reserves the right to cancel, withdraw or change the tour in whole or in part at any time in the event a change is deemed necessary by H.I.M. Tours Ghana. 

PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE   Traveling with HIM Tours Ghana grants permission to take photographs or videos of its vacations and trip participants to be used for promotional or commercial use without payment of any compensation to the participants.

RESPONSIBILITY: H.I.M. Tours Ghana and their Agents assume no liability or responsibility for any injuries or loss of property, accident, delay, changes in schedule or itinerary or incidental damages, occasioned by circumstances beyond the control of H.I.M. Tours Ghana or by any person or reason whatsoever, including but not limited to default or omission of and by any third party providing services or facilities related to or included in this tour or any part thereof or in arranging for same. The airline carriers and other transportation companies whose services are featured in these tours are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passengers are not on board their respective conveyance. The passage contract in use by these companies, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the companies and the purchaser of these tours and/or passenger and H.I.M. Tours Ghana.
