You will be picked up from your hotel at 5:00am. on a minibus to go to Paracas, arriving there around 9:30 am, and heading immediately to the port. You will leave to Ballestas Island on a tour boat. This harsh-looking collection of rocky isles is nevertheless home to an astounding concentration of marine wildlife, unique to Peru’s coast. In the avian category alone, there are 110 bird species, including nesting boobies, cormorants, and pelicans, that either live here year-round or stop briefly on Patagonia-to-Alaska migratory routes.
Colonies of penguins and sea lions are just some of the island’s memorable sights, and the luckiest travelers might catch a glimpse of humpback whales and schools of dolphins. You will also be able to see the famous three-pronged “El Candelabro,” which is a large-scale geoglyph carved into the sand like the Nazca lines; that may have served as a beacon to mariners.
After you will be picked up by our local guide and go to have lunch on a typical restaurant where you will be able to taste pisco.
Then, the guide will drive you southwest towards the Oasis of La Huacachina Lagoon; it is considered the Oasis of America. A gorgeous lagoon surrounded by palm trees and huge sand dunes; this is not a site to be missed. Around 4:00 pm you will have the opportunity to ride in a dune buggy, up and down the dunes at fast speeds. Sand boarding is also an adventurous option.
Afterward, the guide will take you to the minibus to get back to Lima. You will be arriving in Lima around 10 pm. Will take you to your hotel.
