As you set out from the hotel and after hiking for a while, you'll reach the Wind Pass, where you can take a break before reaching and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, make sure you find a good spot especially on a windy day.
From there, you'll continue on to El Chileno, a small campsite where you can rest and refuel before continuing on to the Lenga Forest area until around the bottom of the moraine near the park ranger station.
Then you'll begin the final stretch of the hike, which takes you up the moraine to the base of the tower. This is the most challenging part of the hike, with steep inclines and rocky terrain, but the stunning views at the top make it all worth it.
To ensure that you make it back to the welcome center in time for the 7pm transfer service, it's important to plan your hike carefully. Start early in the day to give yourself plenty of time to complete the trail, and be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you energized.
It's also a good idea to keep an eye on the time as you hike, and to turn back well before sunset to avoid getting caught in the dark. Remember that the weather in Patagonia can be unpredictable, so be prepared for sudden changes in temperature and conditions.
