Day 1  We begin our adventure with a train ride on the Downeaster Train from MA to Freeport, ME. Relax and travel  in style and comfort. Then we arrive in Freeport Maine internationally famous as a world-class shopping destination  and home to famous L.L. Bean. Enjoy our time here browsing at any one of almost a 100 different outlet shops or  stop into L.L. Bean and take in a demonstration. We will have lunch on our own before departing for our hotel this  evening.  Then enjoy a magnificent dinner out as a group for fun and comradery.  Relax this evening and enjoy a wonderful sleep before our full day of adventure tomorrow.

Day 2  Our first stop today is stop is the lovely Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor for a tour of the  gardens. Explore more than 300 acres of gardens and natural spaces, from the Native Butterfly and Moth House to  the Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden or Giles Rhododendron and Perennial Garden. Opened in 2007, our  “People’s Garden” invites visitors of all ages and abilities to create and to explore meaningful connections to plants  and nature at their own pace. Since then, the Gardens has become one of Maine’s top attractions and one of the most  distinguished botanical destinations in the country. Because no trip to Maine would be complete without a Lobsterbake  today we’ll experience Maine’s most famous lobsterbake “Cabbage Island”. This, the Original Downeast Clambake  of Boothbay Harbor, is cooked in seaweed, steamed from top to bottom, and covered with tarpaulins and rocks in order  to capture all the flavor and sweetness of Maine lobsters and clams. This authentic meal includes a steaming cup of  traditional New England Fish Chowder, two luscious bright red lobsters, tender white steamed clams wrapped in foil,  sweet golden corn on the cob, onion, and new Maine potatoes. For dessert, you will love their famous Blueberry Cake  with hot fresh coffee or iced tea

Purchasing your trip on-line incurs bank service fees that are charged at the time of check-out and will also be charged on any installment payments as well. 

Rates and itineraries shown here were in effect at the time of printing and no changes are anticipated; however, Best of Times Travel reserves the right to withdraw any tour or  to make any rate changes, as necessary. Prices are subject to change. A deposit is always required to confirm a reservation. A Deposit of $100pp, plus insurance premium (if  selected) is due upon registration to confirm your reservation. Travel Insurance: We recommend your purchase of optional travel insurance. This optional travel insurance  is per person and the premium is based on the overall trip cost. Travelers MUST purchase the plan at the time of initial deposit. Coverage will not be in place unless your full  Deposit is received. Cancellation schedule and fees are in place regardless of cancellation reason (including, but not limited to, force majeure, health pandemics or government  restrictions). Travel Insurance Premium is also Non-Refundable regardless of cancellation reason. Payment in full must be received by May 24th, 2024 or this may result in an  automatic cancellation. Please note: All cancellations must be made in writing and sent to Best of Times Travel. The date of cancellation is deemed to be the date received by  Best of Times Travel. Cancellation Charges for this programs are as follows: Cancellations from date of booking until 5/24/24 have no cancellation fee. Cancellations from  5/25/24 until 6/22/24 will be assessed a cancellation fee of 75% of the total fare. Cancellations after 6/22/24 will receive no refund, 100% of total fare. Best of Times Travel is  not responsible for any refunds over and above said amount.
