      Itinerary

      Day 1 - Louisville, KY
Travel From Boston, MA to Louisville, KY

Today we depart from Boston, MA and fly to Louisville, KY to begin our adventure of the Kentucky  Bluegrass, the Bourbon Trail. Upon arrival we will get acclimated with Louisville as we visit the heart of the  city where the Bourbon trail begins. The city boasts the world’s only, city-wide trail filled with award-winning  micro-distilleries, exhibits and craft cocktail destinations. We’ll enjoy lunch on our own on Fourth Street Live - Louisville’s entertainment, food, and retail hub in the city. Then it’s onto one of the greatest influences on  America’s sport, baseball, and see first hand the product that propelled legends such as Babe Ruth, Roberto  Clemente and Cool Papa Bell. We’ll visit and tour the Louisville Slugger Factory. On our tour you’ll be  transported to the forests and mills where every Louisville Slugger bat begins, walk through the heart of the  factory production line, check out never-before-seen steps in the bat-making process including the creation  of fan favorite mini-bats, and receive a souvenir mini-bat. Of course one can’t mention Louisville Kentucky  without breathing the words Home of the Kentucky Derby - Churchill Downs. Horse racing in Kentucky  dates back to 1789, when the first race course was constructed in Lexington. Almost 100 years later, in 1875,  Churchill Downs officially opened its gates in Louisville, and began its tradition as “Home of the Kentucky  Derby” and the longest continually running sporting event in America. We will seeing this legendary race  track up close and personal with a visit to not only the Kentucky Derby Museum but we will also partake in a  fantastic walking tour of the grounds. This evening enjoy our comfortable hotel accommodations at the Drury  Hotel along with a delicious dinner experience. (D)

We truely enjoyed the trip —— hotel was great our tour manager did a good job keeping everyone informed. On the return home the stop was the Baseball Hall of fame——— now it took about 1 hour 10 minutes to get thru customs ( not the tour agency fault) then a 4 1/2 hr ride to Cooperstown. So we basically had 1 hour 15 min there (really) you had to decide to do lunch or hall of fame. We choose the hall BUT it really was not enough time to enjoy all there was to see. Promoting the Hall of Fame on this trip would be very disappointing if that stop was part of making the decision to go on this trip.

Our experience was 5 out of 5. The tour folks, Kathy, Stephanie and driver Joanne were fantastic. It was like they were part of the group as well as tour directors. They were knowledgeable and quite helpful. The Falls were quite mesmerizing. There was so much to do in a couple of days. Being able to set your own schedule one of the days gave us the freedom to pick what we personally wanted to do on our own. I wish we had more time for the baseball hall of fame. You really need a whole day in Cooperstown. But it was still a pleasurable experience. The fun started on the bus when we got to meet some nice people. Financially and the timing fit perfectly for us. It's a 'must do'.

Fantastic show. I love the way Ricky Nelson's sons talked about lives growing up with their father and showed the videos. The venue was great.

We drove ourselves to this one to save some money which was nice. We arrived at 11:30 as directed and it was nice to have a salad and bread waiting, but the rest of the meal took 2 hours. Show didn’t start till 1:30 - too long to wait! The meal was good, the lemon cake dessert was great. Gunner and Matthew were very enjoyable. I liked all the background information they gave us about the Ozzie and Harriet show, and their lives and the life of Ricky.
