We've moved our Oaxaca trip to 2025!
Join us for 5 nights of agave spirits, local foods, and culture in Oaxaca City, Mexico. We'll explore the city center with local guides, venture into the countryside for private pelanque tours, and visit a local market to cook a family meal together. We built in lots of free time on this trip for you to explore the side of Oaxaca that interests you most, with many evenings free and optional excursions.

What’s included
- 9-course tasting dinnerEl Distilado is a must visit in Oaxaca. The trip will kick off with a 9-course tasting menu that includes cocktail pairings.
- Two traditional lunchesThere's no better way to get to know a culture than through food. We'll have two lunch destinations that focus on local cuisine and ingredients.
- Full-day mezcal tourOur private guide will take us to multiple pelanques in the countryside of Oaxaca so we can see and learn about the different mezcal production methods.
- Immersive cooking classWe will learn to make specialties like moles and tlayudas before we plan our 3-course dinner. The day includes a visit to the local market and preparing the meal together for a feast!
- Friday Night DinnerNamed one of the World's 50 Best Restaurants, the tiny Criollo Oaxaca's reputation far exceeds the size of the restaurant. We'll enjoy a 6-course dinner with cocktails.
- Optional excursionsOpt in to more excursions outside the city. Choose from visits to UNESCO Mesoamerican sites, temazcal cleanse, an artisan village visit or a market food tour.

- Air travelYou will be responsible for getting to Oaxaca.
- HotelChoose to stay in our block of rooms at the NaNa Vida Hotel in Oaxaca or book your own accommodations.

After Dec 31, 2024, payments and deposits are non-refundable.
Optional: Select an excursion for Friday, October 24th, below. Excursions can also be added at a later date. The Temazcal excursions and the Food Market tour can be combined. All other tours are 5+ hours and cannot be combined, you must choose only one (or none).
Available options
Stay with us at the NaNa Vida Oaxaca Boutique Hotel! We have a block of rooms reserved (both King and double Queen) for anyone interested. This add-on is for an entire room. If you are a solo traveler interested in sharing a room use the other Hotel Stay (Shared) option.
Hotel includes check-in October 21 and check-out October 26.
Traveling solo and interested in sharing a hotel room with another Birch Road member? Stay with us at the NaNa Vida Oaxaca Boutique Hotel! We have many double Queen rooms booked and are happy to try and match up same-gender Birch Road members interested in saving on the cost of the hotel.
