It is special tour for people who love nature and also for birdwatching enthusiasts. An spectacular hummingbird was recently discovered on the Andes of Ecuador in 2017, and made headlines when it was described as a new species to science a year later. For now it is known to inhabit only a mountain in the Andes of southwestern Ecuador. The male's all-blue throat helps differentiate it from the similar Ecuadorian Hillstar (Oreotrochilus chimborazo), which does not overlap its range. The female is much duller than the male, with a greenish dorsal region, brownish belly and green mottled throat. It is found in the páramo at very high elevations, where it feeds on Chuquiraga flowers, which are shaped like small orange flames.
