Join us for our 9-night retreat in one of the most incredible natural places in the world: the volcanic archipelago known as the Galapagos Islands. The Body & Soul Yoga crew is so lucky to be visiting this incredibly unique and sought-after destination and we invite you to join us! We will share some fantastic adventures together, see some of the unique animals that the Islands are known for, and connect to ourselves with daily yoga classes led by Noelle Whittington and Jess Hartmann.
After being welcomed by the Body + Soul Yoga crew at the Mariscal Sucre Quito International Airport (UIO) in Quito, Ecuador, we will be spending our first night at the nearby Wyndham Quito Airport Hotel. Following breakfast the next day, we will fly to the Seymour Galapagos Ecological Airport (GPS) on Baltra Island. We will be met there by our local naturalist guide who will accompany us to the Enchanted Galapagos Lodge. We will have a late lunch followed by a visit to El Chato 2 Tortoise reserve. Once back at the lodge, we will enjoy an optional, gentle yoga class to unwind from the travel, followed by a delicious dinner and bed.
The Enchanted Galapagos Lodge is a beautiful and quiet lodge located in the highlands of Santa Cruz, about 15 minutes away from the city center of Puerto Ayora. The lodge is secluded and tranquil, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the lush and extensive grounds. We will be able to enjoy their beautiful large pool and jacuzzi, relax in the hammocks, stroll around the gardens or along the forest trail, or ride bikes on the country roads. There is the perfect place to practice yoga on the covered yoga platform beside the pool. We can also schedule massages on site upon request.
Over our next six full days here, we will participate in a whole host of adventures to view as many of the islands' famous animal friends as possible: fur seals, marine iguanas, lizards, sea lions, whales, dolphins, sharks, marine turtles and tortoises, iguanas, and of course birds (frigates, gulls, boobies, hawks, flamingos, finches, cormorants, doves, mockingbirds, penguins, finches, doves, albatross, etc.). These adventures include:
• Boat tours to visit some of the uninhabited islands to get up close and personal with the animals
• Bike ride to El Garrapatero Beach and kayaking in the tranquil waters of its bay
• Private visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station and free time to stroll and see the sights in Puerto Ayora
• Private tour to Tortuga Bay to swim, relax, and see all of the animals
• Free day to explore Puerto Ayora at your leisure or stay back at the beautiful Enchanted Galapagos Lodge
*Please note that the order of scheduled tours may change due to Galapagos scheduling.
There will be an all level yoga class offered daily at the lodge's beautiful covered yoga platform. The lodge has a delicious restaurant which features organic, farm-to-table Ecuadorian cuisine, a variety of aged cheeses from their cheese factory, and signature drinks. On days where there is free time, there is also the opportunity to eat out on your own. On days where we are on tours during the day, there will be packed lunches included.
You will share a room with another person - either of your choosing or assigned. Each room is equipped with ensuite bathroom, A/C, and safe.
