About this trip

Bolivia is a South American country with incredibly varied terrain spanning across the Andes Mountain Range, the Atacama Desert and the Amazon Rainforest. The culture is bright, colourful and festive; it is also home to the highest percentage of indigenous people, therefore community-based tourism is popular and offers the best experiences with rich traditions.

La Paz is Bolivia’s capital and located at a whopping 3500 meters above sea level, making it the highest capital city in the world. Highlights and favourites of Bolivia are the Uyuni salt flats, the small town of Copacabana and the Islands of the Sun and Moon, with ancient history dating back to the Inca time period. Other top destinations are Lake Titicaca, the town of Potosi in the southern highlands, and Santa Cruz to the south. Wildlife in Bolivia is so biodiverse, species are still being discovered to this day. Thanks to the lush Amazon and mix of rugged terrains, the wildlife is rare and exotic.

Itinerary

Day 1 - 4 April
Hello & Welcome

Meet Ricardo and the Inspired Team at El Alto International Airport, in La Paz.  We aim to depart at 11 am, so if you are unable to arrive before this time, we recommend you fly in a day earlier and overnight at an airport hotel which we can gladly arrange for you.

We will load up and travel as a group to our hotel which will be our base for the next 3 days.

The afternoon will be spent exploring the highest city in the world's architecture,  diverse people,  food,  and even a witches' market! Colour and flavour are the order of the day, with something to excite our senses around every unearthed corner.  We will explore the city on foot and from the skies, by cable car to get a bird's eye view, while soaking up the magical Kili Kili sunset.

Simply magical! One of the best holidays ever. Meeting the elephants at Sheldrick was really special. The beautiful lodges with stunning views of the wildlife were just amazing. The Tree House was an experience I'll never forget. The whole trip was so very well organised with a few surprise thrown in here and there. Anna was always on hand solving any questions or requests. I'd happily do this trip all over again, every year!

I don't even know how to begin to convey in words how incredible this trip was. A group of unknown women thrown together in a situation so far from every day life you cant really imagine, I had quite literally the time of my life. Learning about the charity's work with the elephants and how nature sustains life between the animals and plants that call the desert their home and so much more on a personal level. Catherine has created a very special trip and all of the team made it something to remember. I highly recommend to any woman who needs a bit of adventure in her life.

I had to great time at the Peak district hiking weekend. Met some amazing ladies and enjoyed the beautiful scenery whilst hiking. Anna and Angharad were great organisers and made sure we were all very well looked after. Looking forward to my next adventure with WHA!

Well where do I start. It was the most amazing experience of my life! It’s really quite difficult to put into words just how life affirming this trip has been..I have a new lust for life and want to experience these types of trips more and more! The people who took care of us from chefs (yes the food was that good!) to trackers to drivers etc were absolutely awesome. They are so passionate about what they do it’s really quite something to witness, It’s warming to know that there are wonderful people out there who care so much for the Elephants. And then over to our Matriarch Catherine, well I have no words this amazing women is everything you would want your daughter, Aunty , Mother to be, strong, have a zest for life, and adventure and share’s all the best things she has to offer and more! Just bloody awesome. Don’t hesitate to book because I can guarantee you will not regret it and it will change you for the better! 😁

Incredible! Incredible from beginning to end. A well organised and unique journey into the beautiful Namibian desert with a group of like-minded women. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and wildlife. We had the privilege of seeing some of the desert elephants - Wow, just wow! Catherine and the team from EHRA were amazing. Any expectations /hopes that I might have had were exceeded by far. This experience is hard to put into words but it is an experience which is one of a kind and one that I will certainly cherish.
