This trip was phenomenal!  The accommodation were top notch and the people were there every step of the way to help us make the moves and connections easy.  Harsha our guide was wonderful and we got to see the orangutans and other animals! I definitely love Ged’s trips and plan to go on several more.

This was truly one of the most incredible trips imaginable. Every detail exceeded our expectations, and every need was taken care of seamlessly. The guides were outstanding, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish.

Everything we experienced was more than 5 star -- we had the best guide, Dean Jais, who showed us the unique animals in Borneo and was a walking dictionary on flora, all wildlife and Malaysian culture.  I believe that Dean is the best guide in all my travels (in Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America and Australia) and was patient and kind as well.  Borneo offers a travel itinerary that should not be missed by anyone with curiosity, love of exotic animals and interest in world history as well as conservation..

Another outstanding adventure from Terra Incognita Eco Tours in the Pantanal of Brazil! Another outstanding local naturalist guide in Luiz! Every detail was taken care of. It was great to experience the southern Pantanal at Bai das Pedras Fazenda. Our hosts Rita and Carlos were very welcoming and had the BEST chef. Looking for jaguars along the rivers around Porto Jofre was thrilling (and very successful!) but Luiz made sure we experienced the quieter moments along smaller rivers enjoying all the other wildlife and beauty of the area. A very memorable trip!

So glad everything went so well for you, you were a pleasure to work with!

Jed, this was a fabulous trip for me and my grandson. There were several surprises, such as the breakfast during the early morning drive and the notable Mugie House. The driver/guides were all excellent and knowledgeable and accommodating for anything we needed. We saw about everything we had hope to see and more. Thank you for this experience.

First rate guide, great range of different locations and wildlife, food was exceptional, cost was modest, and the best part of all was that we had just 4 people on the trip so everything was personalized. Finally, tour company owner was flexible and reasonable, in fact generous.

Another wonderful trip with Terra Incognita Ecotours!  Luiz, our guide, is passionate about the Pantanal and loves to share his knowledge.  We had many wonderful animal sightings, even amidst a terrible drought.  

This was our seventh trip in ten years with Ecotours and I look forward to many more.

My recent trip to the Galapagos Islands and Quito with Terra Incognita was nothing short of amazing, a true once-in-a-lifetime experience that exceeded every expectation. 

The wildlife and landscapes were beyond what I expected - from being able to watch the mating dance of the albatross from mere feet away to snorkeling with sealines or finding the Galapagos Tortoise. Every day we had the opportunity to experience a unique environment, including hiking to a volcano caldera, Booby and Albatross filled cliffs, pristine beaches, and local villages.

The accommodations aboard the luxurious yacht "Natural Paradise" were top notch. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and offered stunning views of the surrounding seascape from a private balcony. The staff aboard the yacht were incredibly friendly, always available when needed but never intrusive. Every meal served aboard was a culinary delight, with no two meals the same, each a complete dining experience.

Terra Incognita made this trip genuinely effortless. From the moment we exited security at the airport until we stepped back onto a plane home we were taken care of by our knowledgeable guide Roberto, making the trip completely stress free.

A great trip with Luiz from Terra Incognita. Loved Baia das Pedras and their fabulous hospitality. Couldn't ask for better hosts. Loved all the wildlife we saw on their property and loved all the jaguars at Porto Jofre. 


Magical! Every day was utterly amazing and I hope to travel with Ecotours again soon! 
The accommodations and food and scenery were all some of the most fantastic I have ever experienced! Our guide, Ged, was a blast! The host with the most for sure! Strongly recommend Ecotours for any trips that involve wildlife and exploring the beauty of natural places! 

Kenya and Rwanda: Masai Mara and Mountain Gorillas

Our 10-day Galapagos adventure with Terra Incognita Ecotours was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We embarked on the journey with high expectations and were pleasantly surprised to have them exceeded in every way!

We spotted unique wildlife, including whales, sea lions, sea turtles, Galápagos tortoises, boobies, frigatebirds, finches, warblers, marine iguanas, albatrosses, and more! We were amazed by the majestic beaches and landscapes and sincerely enjoyed the presence of other like-minded travelers.

It was also wonderful to spend time in Quito, learning about the local culture, history, and customs of Ecuador. We especially enjoyed learning about the local chocolate making process and delighted in the opportunity to dine on fresh and unique local cuisine. 

The itinerary offered a perfectly balanced mix of activities, excursions, and time for rest, and the entire crew aboard our boat was phenomenal. Every day was filled with opportunities to discover something new—from exploring the islands to snorkeling with sea lions and hiking volcanic craters. The small group size was a major plus, allowing us to connect with the environment and enjoy the company of our fellow travelers.

The tour also included first-class accommodations, exceptional hospitality, and plenty of delicious meals and snacks.

Lastly, our naturalist guide was highly knowledgeable about the flora, fauna, and natural history of the land, and our trip organizers kept us informed and prepared from start to finish.

Overall, we would give Terra Incognita Ecotours a 10 out of 10 rating and recommend the company to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience!


Galapagos: The Land of Darwin for Lichota

Roy and I loved this trip. We especially loved our guide, Luiz. He was the kindest, most knowledgeable, and most fun guy to be around. If every person on the planet was as nice and smart as Luiz, it would be heaven. I especially loved the time we had at Fazenda Baia das Pedras. Not only were the game drives exciting, but the accommodations and food were A+. 

This was a unique experience, that felt more like a family expedition than a group trip with strangers. What you saw and where we went, to some of the most remote parts on the planet in the Arctic were simply extraordinary. 

Svalbard: Land of the Ice Bear

I had watched several videos of Svalbard trips posted by travelers on YouTube and elsewhere, so I had some idea of what to expect. But what I didn't fully understand was the seasonality of the various animal populations. We didn't see any whales -- wrong time of year (early June). That was a disappointment because the Arctic is home (during the right season!) to so many species. We saw five Arctic foxes, all looking a bit bedraggled as they transitioned from winter to summer coats. They were excellent sightings--just not super photogenic individuals. The pack ice was VERY far north. I wish we had motored north immediately (the staff had an ice map) rather than make stops along the way so that we had more time to spend searching the pack ice. However, on our return, we were rewarded with a truly amazing morning spent with two bears who gamboled in the snow and water, wandered to a walrus carcass to feed, and took cute naps. They were on a small island in a protected bay, the sun even shone for a while, and it was magical. (Note: one bear was collared and the other had an ear tag. This bothered some photographers.)

If you are not experienced in taking pics/shooting video from a Zodiac: it's not so easy! We don't realize how much processing our brains do for us when our bodies are in motion. But when you see your videos, you'll realize how much the raft was bouncing around!

We sailed on the Polar Quest MS Sjoveien. Very comfortable ship. Lots of great space for taking pictures. Comfortable temps in all staterooms and public spaces. Open bridge!! Plenty of storage under the beds and in wardrobe. There is a hot tub, but this is only fired up on the day of the polar plunge. 

The food waste aboard was appalling. Options for vegetarians were subpar, especially for a European-based ship.

Terra Incognita Ecotours groups are always a great mix of like-minded travelers. Everyone got along well, and it was a good mix of men/women and ages. 

This trip was on the top of my bucket list and a marvelous experience which I will never forget. The accommodations were great both in Kenya and Rwanda. The staffs at both locations were friendly and so willing to help. In Kenya, every effort was made for us to see as many animals as possible. Our driver/guides were very knowledgeable about the country and the wildlife.  
In Rwanda, the gorilla treks were absolutely magical. We were able to get close enough for some to walk right past us. Watching the interactions between the animals put me in the midst of a National Geographic special!
There were special extras also. Wine (and other bevs) and snacks on the savanna. Hot air balloon ride with open air breakfast. The opportunity to meet and spend time with a wonderful group of people of all ages and varied backgrounds, including GED who is the head honcho of EcoTours. 
I would recommend this trip to anyone. 

Trip exceeded any and all expectations. I could not have loved it more! I chose this company due to the owners care and effort to employ locals, give back to the community, and their consciousness in preserving wildlife. I walked any from this trip desperate to go back. I will 100% continue to use and recommend Ecotours! 

Just back from a fantastic trip to Ladakh to see and photograph Snow Leopards, Eurasian Lynx, Wolves , Golden Eagles, Vultures, Ibex, Blue Sheep Uriel's, and much more. The trip organisation, accommodation, food and staffing were first class all around.

The guiding, wildlife and cultural aspects of the trip were all of the highest standard.

Being a group of scientists with a specific agenda, GED was able to orchestrate a trip of a lifetime taking into consideration a desire to see East Africa up close and adding in our special requests. Definitely a first class trip from a first class company! Would highly recommend.

Tanzania; Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti - O'Brien

To visit both the Southern and Northern Pantanal areas during the dry season was the best. Each area has unique animals and some of the same, just different sizes. Ged is exceptional. He is very knowledgeable of both flora and fauna and provides local guides who know where to find identify the animals in the respective area. The tour also provides lectures from NGOs working in the area: studying the animals, educating the local people and developing plans toward cohabitation.

Fabulous trip. Accommodations were perfect as was the food. The safaris were more the expected . Guides were so knowledgeable . Everyone was incredibly nice   The people of Rwanda are warm and wonderful hosts. 

Fantastic! The opportunities for viewing wildlife, particularly lemurs, were outstanding. The whole trip was well-organized and well-planned to introduce travelers to the various and vibrant ecosystems, animals, and cultures of Madagascar.  Local guides were so knowledgeable and friendly, and experts from Duke Lemur Center added their own expertise on both lemurs and conservation and economic initiatives in the country. Accommodations and food were excellent. The whole experience was incredible and profound.

India: Land of the Tiger delivered a fantastic experience of wildlife viewing, including tigers, a leopard, dozens of glorious colored birds, wild dogs, a python, macaque and langur monkeys, gaur (Indian bison),  jackals, swamp and spotted deer, the mongoose, monitor lizards, and more. Throughout the three national parks we visited--Bandhavgarh, Kanha, and Pench--the accommodations were superior--very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The food was excellent with many choices for all palates. Above all, the arrangements by Eco-Tours' director Ged Caddick were handled with professional expertise, all questions answered quickly and clearly. The guide, Harsha, was absolutely perfect in all respects--attentive, great sense of humor, and an encyclopedia of information. This is a dream of a tour for anyone who loves wildlife and welcomes new experiences in the bamboo and Sal tree forests.
