The cypress swamps of Caddo Lake and the Big Cypress Bayou in Texas are places of wild, haunting beauty. Clad in Spanish moss, the trees take on expressive shapes. The swamps comes colorfully alive in autumn, with an explosion of reds, oranges, and yellows.

On this photo tour, we'll use a small inflatable (Zodiac-type) boat to explore the bayou and Caddo Lake, allowing us to get into small hidden locations as well as the larger lake itself. The boat pretty much goes anywhere that a kayak or canoe can go, but much faster and with no strenuous paddling. The boat is incredibly safe and provides a comfortable photography experience.

The tour is limited to only 3 participants for a private small group experience! This presents a unique opportunity to explore the bayou and lake with the guidance of Joseph allowing you to access locations other tours can not get to and the flexibility to be out on the water for longer periods of time to capture those magical images!

Physical requirements: 

We'll be using a small inflatable (Zodiac-type) boat to explore the bayou. You just need decent balance to safely get on and off the boat.

Schedule: 

Three full days of photography. We start on day one before sunrise and end on day three after sunset. Each day we will be out on the water well before sunrise (weather allowing) and spend several hours shooting. In the afternoon, if to is sunny, we will have a break and Gert together for processing and critiques before heading out for at least 2-3 hours of photography in the late afternoon until sunset. If we have an overcast day, we may stay out even longer into the afternoon shooting amazing images!

Lodging: 

Lodging is not included and it is up yo you to book your room for the tour. There is plenty of lodging available in Marshal, Texas, a 25 minute drive to where we will be meeting each morning on the lake. There is also many private Air BNB rentals available in Uncertain and Karnak, Texas right on the lake.

Transportation: 

Participants are responsible for their own transportation to, from, and during the tour, except for boat transportation that is part of the tour.

All other expenses, including transportation, accommodations, and meals are the responsibility of the participant
