About this trip

Immerse yourself in the photogenic beauty of Cape Cod. These shores are beautiful year-round, but I have a special affinity for fall on the Cape. Not only might we experience some fall foliage color, but the sea grasses on the tidal flats near Brewster are tall and beginning to turn golden. And, this is considered the "shoulder" season on the Cape, meaning the summer crowds have left and the Cape is quieter than in the summer months.

Agenda/Itinerary

Weather, light, wind and tidal conditions vary widely on Cape Cod, therefore we do not publish an itinerary in advance. Having led this workshop since 2016, we have many locations including lighthouses, marshes, tidal flats, quant villages, galleries, harbors, piers, and more. Each evening we'll share the following day's itinerary based on conditions for the day.

Whether you photograph with a traditional DSLR or mirrorless camera, enjoy infrared photography, use your iPhone, or all three, as many of us do, you'll enjoy the sites and experiences Rachael and I have lined up for you.

Enjoy the Benefits a Small Group

The maximum group size for this trip is 10 participants.

Smaller groups are my preferred way to travel, teach, and photograph.

Many of our photographers over the years have asked for smaller groups and feedback about smaller group size has been overwhelmingly positive.

Smaller groups allow us to travel together in one vehicle making our logistics easier and more convenient, and provides the opportunity to get to know, learn from, and share with other participants.

And, a smaller group means more attention and support (if you need it) as you photograph.

My intention as a group leader is to allow you to do your own thing, but to be there for you if/when you need support. If you have questions about composition, camera settings, infrared with your "big" camera or your iPhone, or anything else, I'll be more available to you with a smaller group.

Traditional, Infrared, & iPhone

This Trip is for Traditional, Infrared, and iPhone Photographers.

I want you to know participants use both traditional and iPhone cameras, and many today travel only with their iPhone.

What ever you're photographing with, Rachael and I will be there to support you!

While I enjoy supporting traditional photographers and infrared photography with converted "big" cameras, I also love the iPhone. I've been creating with the iPhone since my first iPhone 4 in 2009 and I've been amazed at the evolution of the iPhone in recent years! Today's iPhone is a tool worthy of our camera bag and for many, offers a way to travel light while still creating high quality photographs. If you're an iPhone photographer, I'll support you in getting the most from your iPhone camera, camera apps, and processing tools. That includes creating infrared with the iPhone, which I've been exploring since the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
