About this trip

Join us in person or virtually at the Caribbean Disability Conference, October 9 – 13, 2024 at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort, St. George, Grenada.

The theme of this conference is: Community Access, Empowerment, and Inclusion.

Around 15 % percent of the world’s population, or estimated 1 billion people, live with disabilities. They are the world’s largest minority.

The imperative for this conference is to validate a global study commissioned by UNICEF.   The results of the UNICEF global study shows the need for youth with disabilities to receive supportive program designs.   The Authentic Caribbean Foundation and its partners seek to join this global mission bringing the Caribbean current in elevating the needs for their population of persons with disabilities.

Persons with disabilities in the Caribbean have little or no access to health care, rehabilitation, or other specialized support services

The Authentic Caribbean Foundation and Generation Grenada Foundation team have embarked on improving the lives of persons with disability in the Caribbean region.

Facilitators and other participants will be in attendance. They will represent community groups, regional government agencies, international advocacy groups, institutions, field experts, and educators.

The conference will address critical aspects of disabilities in the region, focusing on topics such as Advocacy and Awareness, Disability Acts and Laws, and Barriers to Inclusion.
