About this trip

We enjoyed the trip very much.  The WAAAM museum was awesome and the timing was great to be there on a day that they were offering car and plane rides.   Meal selections were wonderful and accommodations excellent.  There were plenty of options to appeal to everyone on the trip.  Many thanks to guides Tom and Joan.

Columbia Gorge Harvest Spectacular

I had a wonderful time, great ppl, great tour guides. Requested ADA accommodations not so great in Hood River, but excellent at Skamania Lodge.


I had a wonderful time. Enjoyed awesome food and scenery. Traveled in areas that I had not ever traveled before.   Everything was excellent.  

 Wonderful Wallowas,  great train and tram ride,  restaurants and lodging were good,  performers at Bavarian Alpenfest were sensational!  Tom was very good at improvising when certain places were closed,  he was very patient.  Please do trip again next year,thank you

Wallowa Fall Foliage Signature Excursion

It was pretty good.  Chris was terrific, as always.

The Motel in Joseph was OK but not great.  No extra t.p. No one in the office for helping.

The other motels were fine, but we kept getting put on the second floor, even though we requested the ground floor.  Harder for old people to walk up stairs.  

The museums were all fine.  Wallowa Lake Tram was fantastic!

Wallowa Fall Foliage Signature Excursion (Second)

Except for second floor rooms with no elevators in two places and the tight fit for long legs in the van it was a great trip.  Enjoyed the quirky podcasts while on the road.  Meals were pretty heavy, but Eastern Oregon is that way.  We did go to the best options, I think.  Very much enjoyed the places we went, and appreciated that we did some back roads.  Group size was just right.  Tom was amazingly patient and kind.  I would travel with him again.

This was my first excursion abroad.  I was very impressed with the staff and accommodations. The whole trip was magnificent and something I will always remember.  


Tour of Ireland

Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island were Fantastic! Beautiful country, very clean & people were so nice.  Loved the inlets and coves. 

Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island

We discovered many facts about Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.   The area is rich in history.  Meals and accommodations were lovely. 

We had a great time.  Wonderful people, great accommodations, good food.  Great tour director and bus driver.  My only concerns were we didn't have a guide with us traveling through from Portland to Halifax.  We were unsure about customs since this was our first time outside the united states.  Luckily returning the airport staff was gracious to help us.  We should of been notified that we would have to go through customs in Calgary on the way and returning that we had to go through security and customs again.  Makes a long day when you have to be up before the chickens.

We enjoyed this trip!  Wonderful traveling companions and the direction of an experienced tour director who resides in Nova Scotia.  The local food was amazing and the history that Anne shared with us was so interesting.  Oregonwest did a fabulous tour!

Unfortunately the Lake Chelan part had to be canceled due to fires. Suncadia Resort was put in as a substitute which is not our choice of types of places to stay. Prices were over the TOP!!.  The plays at Leavenworth were great, but we missed the bear on the trail in town. Tom's arranging of a trip to the Cashmere Folk Museum was a highlight for us. Too much wine and we were not impressed by it and the fancy name for the purchased snacks was the only thing fancy about them.  The wineries did not seem to be prepared for our arrival with only one staff person on hand trying to do everything. The middle winery did not have anything set up for us and offered no information as to what kind of grapes etc. There is a jet boat ride on the Columbia which could have been accessed perhaps since Chelan was out.  We will probably avoid a "mini-bus" trip in the future.  Only cup holders by the windows, no pocket on the back of the seats for maps, etc., really tight quarters. The first day I was on the wheel well and by our first stop I felt like a "pretzel"(I am short and just over 90 lbs) so can't imagine what most people would feel like.  The seat belt holder on the jump seat by the door seemed to "jumpout" and snag my husbands leg causing a  pretty good bleed. The only way to see out was mostly to the side you  were on as the seat backs are too high to see anything forward. Except the wine snacks, food was great.  Really appreciated the nice breakfast offering at the Bavarian Inn, much better than the toughest waffle I have ever eaten, dish of fruit, coffee and fruit at Suncadia for over $60.00 for two. Unfortunately if we really want to experience Lake Chelan one more time we will probably do it on our own.  Forgot to mention the the Snoqualimie Falls stop and lunch was really nice.

Lake Chelan and Leavenworth

We had a good trip, in spite of unexpected detours and smoky skies, the tour director did a great job of "handling things on the fly". Great sights and accommodations.  We will travel with this group again. 

Crater Lake, The Redwoods & More!

Was a great trip! Good food, good people, wonderful places to see. Tom & Kevin were the best. Made sure I was well cared for. Bus had a glitch or two but it wasn’t uncomfortable or caused problems you couldn’t adjust to.
Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

Trip poor. Bus used was in poor condition with many seats inoperable to recline or set arm rests. Speaker system very poor so when sitting in back, couldn’t hear guest speakers. Host was fine but he couldn’t get speakers to use Mike properly. Bathroom broke down twice due to lack of water for flushing. To many meals included. Riding bus means no exercise so 2/day enough. Will not use OregonWest again.

The trip was good. Fabulous driver and tour guide. However I  feel I am compelled to share with you how disappointed I waswith the quality of bus that was provided.. When  we  got on I immediately noticed a dirty napkin under the seat ahead of me., the toilet would not flush, some of the seats were broken and  some of the seats rattled relentlessly.  While the staff tried to remedy these problems ,  some we had to put up with the rest.of our trip. 

I had a great time, great food, excellent Tour Guide. Two out of the three accommodations were exceptional, Astoria not so much.

Oregon Coast Scenic Railway Signature Excursion

We really enjoyed this trip.  Chris did a excellent job and we hope that we are fortunate to be able to use him again in the future.

The only complaint is that here was way too much walking on this trip.  Everyone on this tour thought so also.
I would suggest using more public transportation for getting around in Boston..

Stars, Stripes and Boston Delights

The first three nights in the cabins, was horrible, they were small, uncomfortable and not worth what you paid for.
 The trip was wonderful, informative and very enjoyable.
 Ed was enjoyable and very knowledgeable about the area we were in. Uplifting when we were so tired from all the many things we did.
  You might keep in mind our age group, when planning our trips.  

Western Landmarks: Cowboys, National Parks & Monuments

Wonderful group of travelers on this trip. Beautiful scenery and awe inspiring sights at every turn. Ed was an informative and fun travel guide. 

I had an amazing time. We got to see and learn so much in the eight days. Edwardo was excellent in his knowledge, as well as making sure we were all happy. I loved making new friends,  being safe and No Worries. I am excited for Ireland and Iceland. As well as will sign up for Italy with Edwardo next year. 

Overall the trip was fun. The bus is nice, however, the aisle ways are so narrow it was almost impossible for a couple of the riders to comfortably get to the back seats. That was uncomfortable and I'm sure a little embarrassing.  Not everyone is barbie doll size and shape. I think we could have spent more time at Spaghetti Factory, however, putting a group of seniors on the 2nd floor with no readily available elevator was not very good planning on their part. The Portland Spirit is alway fun, but the dinner was really not that good. I had the chicken, it was cold. I admit to being a picky eater but the salad and vegetables didn't even look good. The ride was enjoyable and the fireworks were great. When we got off the boat the ramp was difficult for many. Again, no elevator for folks with mobility issues is not very good. Then we had to walk five minutes to get to the bus which was a little bit more than some of the group could do comfortably. Our guide , Ed, was very nice and full of fun trivia facts which I enjoy. I want to stress that we were never in danger during our ride, however, he did run a red light and made a left hand turn from a forward only lane.

Portland Spirit Fireworks Cruise - Rose Festival

The Lighthouse Tour was FANTASTIC.  I have wanted to see the lighthouses for years. 
Our trip started on the Portland Spirit traveling up the Willamette River and connecting to the Columbia 
into Astoria.   Astoria, in itself, is a true treasure with homes dating back to the 1800.  
Our group caught a travel bus that started us on a jjourneyup the Oregon coast.  

We saw had the pleasure of visiting the following  iconic light houses:   Cape Meares, Yaquina Head, Heceta Head, Umpqua River, Cape Blanco, and Coquille light house  Several of the light houses are closed due to stairway repairs.  

As a side trip while in Depot Bay, our tour guide booked us a whale watching trip,  We did see any whales, but we 
had a whale of a great time.   I've always watched the boats go out on adventures, but this time.  I saw the scenery 
on the other side.   Highlights:   Getting to hear the buoy up close and a great crew 

As a perk I met a new friend, Donna.   Oregon West Excursions provides you many unique opportunities.  I hope

Victoria Spring Gardens

We can't say enough about the great work of the tour director, Chris, or our bus driver Kevin, two very competent and congenial fellows. We were disappointed with the lodging in Port Angeles and the last breakfast, a "do it yourself" nook in the hotel lobby. Otherwise, five staers!

For my first tour ever, I had a great time.  We saw a lot of sights in a short time.  Met new friends and ate a lot of shrimp!!  

Savannah & Charleston

We had a good time and saw many interesting things.

I had a wonderful time. Oregonwest is a great company to travel with.  I saw so much and had great meals!  Our tour director Tom was so fun!  He was so good at taking care of all of us and making sure we all had the perfect experience.

Liked it very much, Chris is a good guide.


Shore Acres Holiday Celebration

We really enjoyed this trip.  The Intercontinental Hotel was scary with trying to figure out how to manage the elevators, plus the lights in the room.  Santa Barbara was great, as were the experiences in Los Angeles, Death Valley and Las Vegas.  Travel is always easy, with getting picked up and dropped off at Woodburn.

Chris is always great, able to roll with weather, any unforeseen circumstances, and helpful to those who need extra help.  He adds a few extra stops to make sure we have enough breaks, and gives us enough history about every location.

The bus driver Frank was fantastic.  He is a great driver, and has a wonderful sense of humor!


California Dreamin' & Desert Delights

Wonderful trip to Portland to enjoy the holidays!  Nice stay at The Heathman downtown and visiting the Pittock Mansion and seeing The Nutcracker were incredible!  The dinner on the Portland Spirit was fabulous as was the Christmas Ship parade.  What a great way to celebrate the holidays with OregonWest !!

Alaska Adventure

A wonderful trip with an amazing tour guide in Chris.  He is attentive to detail and watches out for everyone's welfare.  Loved the excursions on land, boat, and train.

This was a great trip down memory lane for me.  Expertly led by Chris, well organized, good food and hotels, and friendly, welcoming fellow passengers!


Colorado Trains and More

It was a wonderful trip. Enjoyed the boat ride and the young galls helping to keep us happy. Joan did a great job.

Hurricane Ridge, the San Juan Islands & Seattle

The p/u arranged by Oregon West was early so I had to wait for the tour bus for an hour - no food or drink offered on the way up to Seattle on the only rest stop, which only had restrooms (and the sinks didn't work).  Most days we had to have our bags packed by 7:15-7:30 - too hectic.  Two of the hotels I got no sleep in due to noise.  Tour guide was poorly informed and confused us about p/u points.  Food sub-par.  Two long days on a boat cruising for wildlife, which we only saw 2 glimpses of.  People returning late to the boat from San Juan Island caused entire to run an hour late so another dinner at 8:00 pm.  I'd never travel with this company again.

Fantastic trip! Excellent food and accommodations!. Tour guide did exceptional job of dealing with the most diverse group of people I have ever traveled with.  Looking forward to Colorado!
