Upon arrival in Prague the group will meet its tour manager(s), gather everyone and load their motor coach.  You will be oriented to this fascinating city that existed behind 'the Iron Curtain' for decades before the Czech Republic gained its independence.  Around enjoying lunch, travelers will experience a professional guided tour highlighting the impressively well-preserved medieval architecture. Strolling through Prague's Old Town you will also gain access to the historically famous Astronomical Clock Tower, Old Town Square, Powder Tower, Havel Square, and more. After some free time to explore, hotel check-in, refresh for dinner and your evening is open and for student-athletes customarily at coach's instruction.

After breakfast you will now visit the town on the west side of the Vlata River. Visit the famous St. Charles Bridge before walking to the imposing Prague Castle and the Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral (admission provided). The formal touring should wrap up by early afternoon when travelers will be released for lunch in small groups and further exploration. Your tour manager and AFW coordinator will be on hand to help direct you to points of interest. As is typical in Europe, time spent at an outdoor cafe enjoying the food, a beverage and people watching - possibly striking up a conversation is always a valued investment of time. Lastly, if it can be arranged there is a chance for an early evening co-practice with the Prague Lions American Football Club.  Dinner will be provided and the later evening is open.

Breakfast at hotel then check-out and load your motor coach for departure to Salzburg, Austria. Along the way there will be a well-worthwhile stop in the charming town of Cesky Krumlov. Arriving in the latter morning, as you tour you will be oriented to and enchanted by this 'Czech-authentic' town. Once again the preservation of medieval architecture is impressive - so much so that this town is a designated UNESCO Heritage site. There will be free time for lunch and a little exploration then in the mid-afternoon depart to finish the journey to Salzburg.

Be oriented to Salzburg on the drive in to the city. Check-in to your accommodations, refresh before dinner then have the evening in this small city that is easy to walk and explore - and lights up beautifully.

After breakfast the group will depart for a short journey to the Untersburg Cable Car for an ascent up the Alps to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Salzburg, the Berchtesgaden Region and Rositten Valley.  Time to explore on 'top of Austria'.  By the early afternoon descend and return to Salzburg where you will have time for lunch. in the mid-to-late afternoon regather for an efficient tour of the Hohensalzburg Fortress that impressively dominates Salzburg.  Learn of its significance in helping this city thrive through the centuries.  You will have some free time for further exploration around a provided dinner. Enjoy your last evening in Salzburg as you wish.

After breakfast check-out. Before departure from Salzburg receive a final, brief educational tour of its city center that emphasizes the significant impact this city has had on music in western civilization through the works of Mozart and the academy award winning film Sound of Music.  Following the tour load your motor coach for the 2-hour drive to Munich.

Upon arrival in Munich in the noon hour be oriented to the vibrant market area where a delicious Bavarian lunch and beverage is easily at your disposal at any of the numerous cafes and beer gardens. In the mid-afternoon regather for a tour of Munich's city center which is rich with history affecting Europe and western civilization.  After a little more free time, move to your Munich-based hotel to check-in, refresh for dinner and the evening is available for your exploration.

Breakfast will be available around final team meetings and walk-throughs.  We will seek to tour to Munich's Olympia Park, site of the 1972 Summer Olympics and a dramatic chapter in the history of the Games.  A pre-game meal will then be provided.  We anticipate a mid-afternoon kick-off with a top American Football Club Team from the top-notch German Football Federation.  Thoroughly enjoy this day as you play your game with sportsmanship and serve as ambassadors honorably representing your university, the USA and American Football on foreign soil. It will be our ambition to arrange a post-game social and possibly a meal with your German opponent-hosts. If this can come together, it will be a tour highlight. The late evening celebrating is at your coach's instruction.

After breakfast in the morning load your motor coach to depart for the nearby Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial site.  Here confront one of the more significant and darker moments in world history. Upon conclusion of this stark visit, return to Munich where you will have time for lunch and further exploration of this city.  Your tour manager and AFW coordinator will be on hand. Potential sites to visit include the BMW Museum, Allianz Arena Soccer Stadium, Nyphenburg Palace or other sites. Past visitors have been fascinated by the optional 'Third Reich Tour'. Your visit concludes with a celebratory dinner meal at the world-famous Hofbrauhaus.

Depart back home to the USA with an invaluable education, indelible memories, fantastic stories along with a new enhanced sense of togetherness as a team and amongst the Carroll Football family members as well.  There is more to look forward to in the fall of 2023.  Let's Go Pioneers!
