The Sunday market at Issigeac is probably the best market in the Dordogne. The market is spread out over most of the streets and small squares occupying the centre of the town. There is a wide selection of market stalls selling fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, clothing, pottery, fancy goods as well as selling hot food dishes such as rotisserie chicken, paella, Chinese dishes and needless to say local wines.  We will leave the chateau as a group on Sunday morning and take you to the market for a morning of exploring.

We will also purchase oysters for our bespoke cooking class on Monday!

On Monday, we will partake in a bespoke cooking class with a local French chef!   We will prepare oysters (that we bought at the Sunday market) as a first course, main course, and dessert!  You will return home with at least one French dish up your culinary sleeves!

French oysters are some of the best in the world, and the oysters from Archichon Bay near Bordeaux arrive in the Issiejac market every Sunday morning.  Oysters have been part of the French diet for centuries. 

We are brining in a local sommelier for a boutique wine tasting for guests 21 and over who partake.  Please let us know if you wish to attend in advance.   You will taste 6 wines and have the opportunity to purchase wine to be delivered to your home.

Explore everything the Dordogne region has to offer, or chill by the pool.  Hiking, biking, and river explorations available at additional costs.   We will update you with options as we get closer to travel. 

Explore the Marquessac Gardens, visit the markets in Sarlat and have such, and visit Josephine Baker's famous chateau!  this is a full day of exploration and adventure, and lots and lots of castles.

As Dr. Seuss said, "Don't be sad that it's over, be happy that it happened."  

Au revoir. (Oh reh-vwah) This is the most common ways of saying goodbye in French, and it’s acceptable for the vast majority of situations, formal and informal. It literally means “until we each see each other again."

We know we will see you again.   Are you coming back next year?

We will transport you to Bordeaux for your departure by train or plane, and wish you the best until we see you again.  We highly recommend evening flights out of Bordeaux or Paris.  If you would like to add a few days in Paris, Bordeaux or Barcelona, it is easy to travel to all three cities by train, and go home at your leisure.  We are here to make suggestions and help as needed.
