We clearly detailed and told brandons friend that THEY WERE TOO LATE FOR BARTHOLOME as they were booki g last minute gave them a discount for the trip so they could do another island 

On the brochure clearly says how much the entrance to the park costs

Brandon never spoke to us and when he did, he only had one question.

After that the staff in Galapagos were literally taking them to the activities 

Sierra negra is a hike, this is also stated in the itinerary, probably Brandon doesn't know how to read English and then shows up in flip flops to a hike 



The printed itinerary we received was lacking details of each day's outing.  My wife asked for a more detailed itinerary and never got one.   
We went anyways and the plan presented to us from Galapagos Dreams was not what we had paid for.  
The trip to Bartholome Island was not included and was supposed to be great snorkeling.  Never happened.  T
he other days planned did not really tell us what to expect and lacked details like "Hiking"...that had no time, distance or elevation covered...nothing.  So we showed up with the wrong shoes but went anyways as, really what is our option?  
The Galapagos Dreams people did not speak English well and we constantly had to work hard to achieve understanding of what was up next.  
We are in a foreign country and they would just say a driver will be at your hotel tomorrow to pick you up...not ID not company logos, nothing to allow me to think that they are who they say they are.  This happened several times.
We were taken on boat taxis and ferries that were honestly very poorly maintained and operated.

And the unknown fees....wow.  $200 each to get to Galapagos.  Used to be $100.  They changed it to $200 August 1.  No one ever told
about the change.  And they only took cash.  Really?  Just Cough up $400 cash to some gut at a desk at the GPS Airport.???  I asked for a receipt, and they acted like I was insane.  They eventually gave me an internet link to go view my transaction.
And there any other last minute fees and taxes that occurred...which if we knew about t hem ahead of time, would have been more acceptable.

If I ever go to the Galapagos Island again it would only be for the great people that live here.  Certainly, only if I arrange each day's trip myself.  Never use a travel agency again.  I will let everyone I know to avoid you folks.

For the amount of money spent, we did not come close to getting the accommodations and communications we expected.
I am pretty sure you will not post this, and that's fine.   I will still get the word out.

I wore the best shoes I had for my hike to the volcanoes.  I had no problem with the hike or my shoes.  Never wore flip flops the whole trip.  I have photos of my wife on that hike, no flip flops.  I wore my best sneakers and they were fine.  I am 66 and I went on the extra leg of the hike with all of the younger folks in our group.  I will post those photos on another website.  Actually had a good time on that hike and the guide was excellent.  
As to my English, well I do ok.  I also used Google translate as much as possible given the remote locations ad weak cell phone signals.  Every day I barely had enough battery to get back to the hotel due to the use of "translate".  I am not doing anything but being honest.  We asked questions every day.

There was no discount at all given.  We arrived on time every day to the location as needed.   My wife asked for a detailed itinerary and was never given one other than the original.  It was a single sheet, with very little detail of each days events.

Galapagos Islands 5 Day B

We had a great time. Well organised. Super guide! The horses were very calm, and not even fazed by some barking dogs. The views are spectacular, especially with a volcano erupting on the horizon.

Horseback Trip

We went back to this accommodation multiple times because of the warm welcome by the excellent manager and staff. The rooms are large and clean, bed comfortable and breakfast plentiful. Like a lot of older buildings, the plumbing is a little erratic but the staff were quick to try to fix any problems. 

Casa Francisco

We did a 4d/3n tour to Yasuni with guide Marco. We were impressed with his ability to spot and point out wildlife to us. The jungle lodge and the food were great and each day we were introduced to a different side of the Amazon. 

Yasuni Eco Adventure - 4 days

We had a memorable time, our mountain guide Juan Carlos ensured we had a great time while prioritizing our safety above everything. 10/10 recommend the service & tour!

Mountain Climbing Ecuador  - Cotopaxi 2 climbers

I had a lovely time at Casa Francisco. Beautiful colonial building, perfect location, clean and comfy rooms but whats important the great atmosphere filled by employees and manager. I recommend to anyone 100 %!

I can't say enough good things about our adventure with Ecuador Eco Adventures to climb Carihuairazo and Chimborazo. Accommodations at Base Camp were incredible -- a cook for food (Alex was awesome!), great cabins, wifi to connect with loved ones, and importantly, a stunning view of Chimborazo alongside two alpaca. Our guide Manuel was great and got us up Carihuairazo successfully in no time. Our guide Patricio (and accompanying guide Jose) was hugely comforting as we attacked Chimborazo. He made us comfortable with our gear and got us safely up most of the mountain before having to turn around due to severe avalanche risk. His knowledge definitely saved us on the mountain. We were also fortunate to coordinate rides between Riobamba and Quito on both ends, and our driver Pablo absolutely MADE our trip -- huge shoutout to him! All in all, a wonderful trip. I will always turn to Wlady and Ecuador Eco Adventures for my future climbs in Ecuador!

Carihuairazo-Chimborazo 2 Climbers 5 days

Casa Francisco was amazing! Wlady helped set us up with driver Marco to pick us up from the airport at 1:30am, which was hugely helpful. We loved the arrangement, the location was great for exploring the old town area. We felt safe around the area and especially at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay before the rooftop was finished, but we were still able to go up to enjoy the views (and maybe a few beverages). Willy and Edwin, the hotel workers, were phenomenal and made the stay worth it with their service alone. Hoping to enjoy future stays at Casa Francisco during future adventures with Ecuador Eco Adventures!

Ecuadorecoadventure clearly attracts many of the best guides and provides a quality experience.  I signed on for just the one night two day climb of Chimborazo from high camp with Pablo as I had my own vehicle and mountaineering experience and acclimatized at Cayambe (great place but too far away).  It was key to have high camp and Pablo is awesome.  He saw me to the main summit even though we had high winds and snow.  Pablo brings the perfect combination of knowledge, great energy, safety focus, caring and English.  I also met Wiley and Fausto who are also great.  I’m psyched for more 6,000 meter mountains.  BTW, I think this climb is not so technically hard, some crampon practice helps for sure, but arrive Ecuador in like sub 2 hr for a 1/2 marathon shape and then spend 5 days or more acclimatizing.

Chimborazo Private climb (Refuge Carrell)

My son had another very successful climb after Chimborazo. The guide and climbing partner were excellent. The itinerary, food. And lodging were very nice! I highly recommend  Ecuador Eco Adventures!

The climb was hard, but enjoable. The High Camp at 5300 m is an amazing place! Well organized and professional guides. Thank you.

Chimborazo Private climb

I had an amazing solo hiking trip with EET! I felt safe, supported, and informed throughout the experience.

Edwin & Pablo were fantastic guides, both knowledgeable and friendly at every turn. However, my third guide spoke no English; although still a good experience, it does cause slight concern if danger were to occur. I wish this was clarified at the beginning.

As for the hikes, PLEASE be prepared for extreme physical challenge. I climbed Iliniza North, Carihuairazo, and Chimborazo - all pushing my limits in different capacities. If you do not have prior mountaineering experience, please reconsider these peaks for your safety.

Finally, many details of the trip went as planned, though some minor aspects changed last minute. Communication could be slightly improved for added clarity. Additionally, the borrowed equipment was not the best quality - I recommend bringing your own, if possible.

We had a good time and experience. Weather was good on the 1st day and rain all over the 2nd day what made trecking really hard do to mud on the treck.
Good guides and accomodation in tents as well food for diner where good.

Trek El Altar

Great time, friendly people, enjoyable food (communicate if you want something changed), fantastic accommodations in remote location, very responsive but not proactive in communication. Wily is an amazing person and wonderful guide.

Had issues with transportation from Quito to Riobamba, caused a delay of 2+ hrs but it wasn’t a big deal. I would have appreciated better communication/check in to make sure the 3rd party transportation was on schedule.
Some of the  equipment lent was damaged. I used one pair of boots on day 2 and then the guide said it was no good because it was broken. The agency should have discontinued instead of lending it out.
The sleeves for the ankles had a zipper broken and some of the Velcro didn’t stick well.
The glacier training was not adequate because it was not on snow or ice and it was short. A few hours of walking to a hill with sand and then 45 minutes of training using crampons and equipment. It was enough practice
This adventure is not for beginners no matter if you find the technique easy.
I will book again.

Galapagos Islands Adventure 8 days

Top level organization, very professional on all levels: from guides to cooks who prepare restaurant food on 5,300 metres altitude:) The only advice i can give to tourists is please be prepared for the Chimborazo mountain as it's NOT a place to learn how to use crampons, ice axe etc. Many thanks to guides Patricio and Pablo. Will try summit again next winter.

I had booked a private climb of Chimborazo with Ecuador Eco Adventure. Wlady was very responsive over WhatsApp and gave me the information I asked for every time. My guide, Wily, was great. He took it slow, safe and easy to make the climb a successful one. He knew when he needed to push me and when to let me catch a breath. Manuel at base camp was kind and cooked up some great meals to get us fueled up. 

The reasons why I didn’t give a five-star review:
- I would have appreciated more proactive communications as the date of the climb approached. For example, a simple reminder of the itinerary, contact number of the driver, etc. would have been appreciated. This information was always available if asked, but as a services company, Ecuador Eco Adventure could be proactive. 
- Similarly, once the climb began, it would have been helpful if the guides provided an overview of the climb, asked for questions, etc. It otherwise felt very transactional.
- Some of the gear I received was broken or not cleaned. The pants had medicine from the previous wearer. One of the gaiters had a broken zipper (Wlady kindly sent a replacement but one of the replacements was also broken. Luckily, I was able to take the single working one from each pair). I'd highly recommend checking your equipment before leaving the office. 

Overall, I’d recommend Ecuador Eco Adventure, taking note of the points above. I’d also suggest looking at other reviews for the names of the guides that others have given positive reviews for and that you request for them on your climb. Have a fun and safe adventure!

ECO Ecuador Expeditions is a great way for alpinists to experience high altitude without having to plan all of your own logistics and route finding. They do it all for you. I suggest the longer programs, especially if coming from sea level. Getting acclimated makes all the difference when you start thinking about climbing above 5,000 meters. Also, it's suggested to know some Spanish language. The leader of ECO was very accommodating and prices very reasonable. Their basecamp for Chimborazo is right there at the base of the mountain!

Chimborazo 9 day program - 2 Climbers

Cayambe -Chimborazo 5 days (2 climbers)

We climbed Chimborazo with this company and also Cayambe.   On our Cayambe climb we had Juan as our Guide and I really enjoyed his company.   He has a really cool Hostel where he lives and it was great to tour around his place and see what he was doing.    In the future, better communication at the start would have saved us that long drive down and back up, but that was a shared issue of not understanding where the rental gear would be, where Juan would be, and how far away from Cayembe it was.   
      Nonetheless, Juan set my friend up with gear, and we were able to get to the Refugio for a great dinner and a fairly good night's sleep in a private room (surprise).   We woke at 11am, had "Breakfast" and then headed up the mountain.   
      We felt very safe with Juan and he took some amazing photos.   As we were hiking around 18,000 ft, we heard a "Whoomph" and knew that we were going to have some tough avalanche danger.  We continued to hike but not much further the guides dug an avalanche pit and there was an ugly missing layer in the snow.   If we went any further, we would surely have been caught in an avalanche.   
       Therefore, we turned around and headed back down to the refugio and had a lovely breakfast and then headed back home.   Such an amazing experience and Juan and Wlady were really wonderful guides and coordinators.   If I'd say anything that could be better, just more and clearer communication as we got closer to climbing day (yes, we know the guides are incredibly busy, but good communication makes things so much easier).


Cayambe 2 climbers

This was a great experience! The guides were very good and the accommodations very clean and comfortable! Also the food was delicious! 

We contacted Ecuador Eco Adventures to climb Antisana. Wlado convinced us to climb Chimborazo as the conditions were much better there. Our trip was organised with only a few days notice, it just incredible how quickly Wlado was able to arrange all of the logistics for us so quickly. He was in contact with us multiple times a day confirming all of the arrangements and allaying our fears about the weather and the conditions on the mountain. We were actually so close to pulling out last minute because we were so concerned about the conditions on Chimborazo but we are so thankful that Wladi convinced us to go. Our trip was seamless. We caught a red eye flight from Mexico City and were picked up from Quito Airport and driven to the company’s Chimborazo base camp where we arranged our gear and had a wonderful lunch. Then we were driven to the Chimborazo Refugio where we started our hike to high camp. Our guide Wily is a highly experienced and skilled ASEGUIM guide who is also just the most kind and friendly human being. He kept us going when things got tough and kept us very safe. We absolutely loved our time with him on Chimborazo! After our phenomenal summit, we were transferred back to Quito. The whole trip was so easy from a logistical perspective so all we had to do was focus on the climb. We’re so grateful to Wlado for arranging the trip for us so quickly and to Wily for his expert guidance on Chimborazo. We will definitely use this company again!

Antisana 2 Climbers

An amazing trip we will remember for the rest of our lives.  We landed in Quito and hiked up El Panecillo on our first day to start acclimatization.  The next day we self guided ourselves up Rucu Pichincha, Ladrillos, and Padre Encantado.  This ended up being our most intense day for managing the affects of higher elevations (15km, 1600m, mostly over 4,000 m elevation).  

The following morning, our guide picked us up at our Airbnb in Quito.  We stopped for snacks, stopped to get a climbing permit, and made our way up Illiniza Norte.  Our guide (Edwin) was awesome!  He shared a lot of information, history, and lore about the area.  We really enjoyed the scrambling on Illiniza.  That night we stayed at an Andean Lodge. Edwin made us dinner and played a few songs he was learning on la quena.  After breakfast the next day, we were driven to Chimborazo Basecamp where we would spend the next 3 nights in a dome tent with a perfect view of Chimborazo.  

That night we woke up at midnight to climb Carihuairazo with a different guide named Manuel (?). He didn't speak much English, so I practiced my Spanish with the help of Google Translate. We ended up summitting in the dark and with a cold wind, we decided not to wait for sunrise.  I'm sure the view is nice up there...  

We rested at Basecamp for a day and a half before making the approach to Chimborazo High Camp at 5,300m.  We had Wily for our guide and he was awesome... the 3 of us had a lot of fun!  After dinner, we managed to get about 5 hours of sleep/rest before waking up at 12:30am for a quick breakfast.  Pushing ourselves to acclimatize over 6 days paid off.  We reached Vientimilla in 4.25 hours, and Whymper (main summit) took another 30 minutes.  On the summit, I proposed to my girlfriend while the sun was rising and Volcan Sangay was erupting.  It was perfect!  

We don't usually hire guides at home (Canadian Rockies) unless we're learning technical skills.  Ecuador law requires foreigners to hire certified guides to travel on glaciated terrain, and we are happy we chose Ecuador Eco Adventure. They took care of logistics, and we managed our personal gear.  We still felt a degree of independence by having input to our pace and the occasional route-finding.  It was like climbing with another climbing partner, rather then being "guided" up a mountain.  Plus Wily was there to capture our proposal!  

Although supplied by EEA, we were happy to have brought our own mountaineering boots, harnesses, helmets, and poles.  Mostly  for comfort-sake.  We brought our own sleeping bags for High Camp.  We also brought a lot of our own snacks that we would typically have at home (bars, gels, etc)  There's lots of food supplied, but snacks are more junk food than nutritional. 

Was great! The organization was great, it was beautiful for the Base Camp- plenty of day hikes from here. Wily the Mountain Guide knows the mountain like the back of his hand, felt safe with him leading the way. The huts were really nice, but I would plan on bringing some warm clothes as the heaters had to work keeping up with the cold temps. Recommended!

Carihuairazo-Chimborazo Solo Climber 5 days

Unforgettable experience! Met interesting and nice people, locals and foreign climbers, very professional guides (Edwin my favourite one) and beautiful volcanoes... The accommodations were always good, except for the high camp in Chimborazo: very cold and with no toilets. Very tasty food in Wasi Andina (best place of the 6 day tour), good in high camp, not always good at Chimborazo basecamp. Snacks provided were with lactose, despite advised that I was intollerant.

Everything was well organized. The refugio was very clean. Food was good. Overall experience was excellent. Thank you.

Horseback Trip 3 Days

This is my second climb with Eco-Adventures. I can't say enough good things about Vlad and his guides. Patricio picked me up, gave me a thorough briefing on the itinerary and offered stops as needed on our way to the Reserve. He had a great pace, clear direction and years of experience. 5 stars for Eco-Adventures and I will be back 8n 6 months.

Condor Trek

Had a great time with really wonderful staff and guides! The whole experience was so much fun and filled with beautiful views. The base camp is perfect—you can just sit and stare at the mountain all day!

Our guide, Mannuel, was amazing! Very supportive and knowledgeable about Carhuairazo and the area. The whole team and Ecuador Eco Adventures were very helpful and made sure my friend and I had everything we needed. My friend forgot her trekking poles and Ecuador Eco Adventures made sure they got back to her in Quito before she left. I would definitely book with them again and recommended them to other travelers we met in Ecuador.

Amazing trek. Our guides were Edwin, Monica, and Wilfredo and would reccomend that you ask for them. Edwin speaks English and was enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge about the local history, customs, traditions, and plant and animal life. They were all very kind and took care of everything for us. 

The trek itself was beautiful and difficult. We got very lucky with only minor rain on day 1 and some sun on day 3. Even in the dry season it's likely to rain. We didn't finish the trek to the end point of El Tambo because it had been raining on that stretch for a week straight and were told the usual 6 hour trek would be 9 hours in the rain and knee deep mud. We chose to hike out a different way through Antisana National Park instead. 

Overall this was a fantastic trip. Stayed at Basecamp to acclimatize for the climb. Accommodations were great. The climb met all my expectations. The equipment provided was in good condition. Good meals at Highcamp. My guide - Jose, was excellent. His English is good and he did an excellent job with setting expectations, managing timing en route and my safety. I am grateful for his assistance in getting me to the top and return.

This was a great experience for avid hikers who want to challenge themselves with high altitude glacier/mountaineering skills. It also would be a great adventure for more experienced mountain climbers looking to acclimate to bigger objectives or just enjoy a spectacular view. Our guides, Patricio and Juaquin were fantastic. They provided all the technical gear as well as advice on glacier skills as we ascended and descended. Both were very friendly, had a good sense of humor and were stoked to help get us to the top. They really put together an awesome trip. 

We had a great time. Nice guide, porter and cook, excellent food and nice little attentions. Beware the the trek itself although is beautiful, it is very demanding physically especially because of the altitude, and the weather conditions may be harsh (rain rendering your personnal belongings damp for the rest of your trek, cold temperatures at night, etc). Be prepared with good quality clothing and you’ll be fine!

This was the first place on my bucket list after watching a documentary on the Darwin/Galapagos in my mid 20s. I didn't have time to do any real research as I decided to book it 3 days prior to flying out from the States, on Easter weekend at that. 
 Everything and I mean everything was top notch. They ask absolutely went out of their way to make sure I was having a great time and I was always greeted with a smile. 
They were patient with all my questions and held my hand throughout the entire trip.  I would HIGHLY recommend booking with them, as I will myself when I return.  The accomodations were wonderful,  the morning breakfasts were fantastic,  and the package was budget friendly,  and everyday was a new and exciting adventure.

I've traveled a lot and don't usually book packages but this was so well worth it. You all are the best of the best.

Galapagos island 7 Days with diving

This was a once in a lifetime experience. The guides took excellent care of us (food, water, and equipment) and made sure we got up the mountain safely. It is a difficult experience, but very worthwhile for those up for the challenge.

El guía hizo todo hasta llevarlo a la cumbre, también le escribió para poderle probar los equipos, el cliente quería subir con botas de caminata a un nevado de 5800 m 

Puede ser cierto que no tuvo una buena experiencia pero debido al terremoto se debía evacuar lo antes posible

De todas maneras confiamos en que las personas que reservan sean más sensatas que está 

Trataremos de mejorar en caso de emergencias como los terremotos, para no apurar al cliente 

Todo lo que un buen guía no debería hacer, lo hizo el guía que me tocó (Juan Carlos).
Para empezar un día antes del ascenso el guía no me había contactado ni nos habíamos organizado, tuve que escribirle yo y me respondió hasta el día del ascenso en la mañana. Me pidió que yo llegara a su casa para darme el equipo.
Durante el trayecto se la paso respondiendo mensajes mientras  manejaba, de camino pasamos a una plaza a que comprara ropa y a dejarle algo a su hija.
Al llegar al refugio (súper tarde por cierto) me fui a dormir y no me explico nada del ascenso solo me dijo a que hora nos despertaríamos y me dejo solo, se fue a platicar con los cocineros del refugio.
Durante el ascenso nunca estuvo pendiente de mi estado, yo tenía que seguirle el paso a él, en varias ocasiones yo ya no podía más y en lugar de motivarme solo me obligaba a seguir de una forma grosera. 
Subimos muy rápido, hicimos cumbre y solo me dejo estar como 3 minutos arriba ,y bajamos aún más rápido, en el descenso yo ya estaba muy agotado y no me dejaba descansar pese a que en repetidas ocasiones le externe que necesitaba descansar un poco.
A las 8:30 am ya estábamos de nuevo en el refugio, yo estaba extremadamente cansado porque todo el tiempo le tuve que seguir el paso. Le pedí que me dejara dormir 15 minutos en el refugio porque estaba muy agotado, no me dejo, me dijo que me durmiera en la camioneta porque ya nos íbamos a regresar, que de lo contrario todos los demás grupos empezarían a bajar y sería muy tardado tomar la camioneta para bajar del refugio.
Sinceramente a pesar de haber hecho cumbre no disfrute el ascenso, ni siquiera tuve tiempo de hacerlo o de tomar fotos, no entiendo la prisa por subir, bajar e irnos.
Por el precio que pague esperaba un mejor servicio.
Lo único positivo es que el guía me tomo algunas fotos durante el ascenso.
Jamás volvería a irme con esta agencia. Ojalá hagan algo al respecto.


My wife and I recently completed an 11-day trip to Ecuador that was booked through Ecuador Eco Adventures.  Wlady Ortiz at EEA put together a custom trip that saved us a lot of money and we had a marvelous time, while seeing and doing some amazing things.  Our trip cost about half of what a typical 6-day boat-base Galapagos tour would cost AND we got 5 days in mainland Ecuador!  Another thing that we liked about working with EEA is that - while they saved us a lot of money - every dollar that we spent went into the hands of Ecuadorians. 
The only reason that I'm not giving a 5-star rating is that some of the communications and detail management could have been a bit better.  I want to stress that we had a great time!  Moreover, if and when we go back to Ecuador, we would use EEA again, but - on the next trip - we'd be better prepared to ask the right questions and get important details set at the beginning for a smoother trip.
My wife and I are experienced travelers and have been to numerous countries on 6 continents now.  We know how to roll with things and it all worked out, but some travelers may need a bit more structure in order to feel comfortable.


We apreciete the review, would liket o extend our apologise to Eva for miss placing the jacket, we provide gear for travelers who do not have the necessary equipment to attempt the climb, at no extra cost. 

this review will also allow us to rethink about offering discounts and matching climbers in Chimborazo as her inquiry was to reduce the cost due to her budget. 

we will try to learn and be more strict next time.

I had a great time on Chimborazo summit attempt (we didn't make it due to conditions), that's largely because I love mountaineering and my fellow hiker was great! Some people in the company were so helpful, so friendly HOWEVER, I would recommend to use other companies and pay more, this company seems to undercut most. 
After requesting to borrow a waterproof jacket the company forgot to pack this. When I brought this up with my guide when I had no access to my own stuff and other equipment, he just shrugged and said he didn't know anything. Luckily the person who I was climbing with had a partner who let me borrow hers. They also forgot to pack a torch for my climbing partner, something he also requested. 
At the time we were told to wake up to summit, I was the only person awake, I waited 20 minutes then decided to start to get ready, waking up my partner. All the guides were still fast asleep and I wonder what time they would have woken up if we hadn't...
Lastly, I work as a mountain guide in my country I love my job, I love encouraging people and learning about them. 
There was a language barrier and our guide was helpful as far as necessary, but he also seemed to be frustrated often and unfriendly. 
This is a shame because some people in the company were really friendly, really helpful. 
All in all, I can recommend the experience, climb Chimborazo, but I cannot recommend the company.
