About this trip

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE TRIP.  IT IS NOW SOLD OUT.  THERE IS ALWAYS THE POSSIBILITY OF CANCELLATIONS SHOULD YOU WISH TO JOIN THE WAIT LIST.

This festive 2 night trip offers a full immersion into the Biltmore House during the Holiday Season!

No other residence in America offers a more authentic, original, and inspiring view of life during the Guided Age at Christmas than the Biltmore House.  George Vanderbilt first welcomed guests to Biltmore Estate on Christmas Eve in 1895 and today his legacy and love of entertaining are shared with you in a self-guided audio tour hosted by Estate Curators.  Thousands of ornaments, dozens of trees, garland, wreaths, vintage toys and holiday fragrances greet you in every room!  The Estate visit experience also offers time to enjoy the Conservatory bedecked with hundreds of blooming poinsettias.  There is time to enjoy wine tasting at the Biltmore Winery, visit the Biltmore Legacy Exhibit featuring rarely seen private collections from the family and an outdoor model train display in Antler Hill Village.   You can enjoy lunch on your own with plenty of offerings on the Estate grounds.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds are possible if the trip can be resold to another passenger or I can get refunds from the hotel or restaurants included in the trip.  There are no refunds on the cost of the bus or the Biltmore House admission.   Trip insurance  is also available for purchase through this website.

Gingerbread House Competition

I love the National Gingerbread House Competition and Holiday Dinner at the Omni Grove Park Inn and plan to share it with you on the second night of our trip.  This is a highly popular event with limited attendance each evening.  If I am unable to secure this experience, we will enjoy another one of Asheville's holiday dinner experiences.  Once you are registered, you will receive update emails on the status of the Gingerbread House Competition.

Covid Policy

Please follow CDC current guidelines and stay up to date on vaccines to protect yourself from variants during travel and exposure to crowds.

I love to travel so in my partially retired life I decided to adapt my passion for travel along with 25 years of experience in Travel & Tourism to create Trips by Patty. I received a BA in American History from UNC-Chapel Hill. Not knowing what I was going to do with that degree, I started working as a desk clerk at a hotel in Raleigh. I enjoyed the hotel business and the career path began. Hotel operations and sales, Convention Center operations and marketing, destination marketing with a Convention Visitors Bureau and even a stint as a tour guide. What happened to the history degree? Well, many times when I am escorting my trips I share the history of the destinations we visit. It's a great feeling to take your career skills and adapt them to your own small business. I love what I do and hope you'll join me on a trip one day!

We had a great time. The bus ride was comfortable, the dinner was good and the show was fun. I made a couple new friends along the way. What an easy way to navigate an evening! Thank you so much.

We had a great time! Patty had very detail down pat and made sure everything was correct. We have been on other trips with her and have consistently enjoyed them all. Greenville was very special from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Great trip! Lovely little city. Winery & museum were highlights. Progressive dinner was a big disappointment: the appetizer was really just chips & dip, the pork chop was cold. Would be best to have substantial but smaller portions for each meal, as we had on the Charleston trip (fabulous food). I know the dates chosen were the only available , but for future trips, avoiding Mondays would be best (more museums open). The trip was just the right amount of time. Looking forward to returning in February for Hamilton!
