If arriving by train, we will arrange collection from Westport railway station and bring you to Hotel Newport (prior arrangement required). Spend the evening exploring Newport’s unique architectural heritage: the town’s buildings have unique stories to tell.
Visit St. Patrick’s Church, home to the beautiful stained-glass window by renowned artist Harry Clarke.
Stretch your legs with a stroll along the Blackoak river and across the railway viaduct that once carried steam trains through Newport on their way to Achill.
Work up an appetite with a walk along the Great Western Greenway, to visit Burrishoole Abbey, the 15th century Dominican Friary, in a beautiful, peaceful location on the shores of Clew Bay.
