IDENTIFICATION ~ A passport valid for 6 months beyond the tour start date is required.
ALTITUDE ~ Bogotá: 8,612 ft ~ Armenia: 4,865 ft ~ Cali: 3,327 ft
WEATHER ~ August is considered one of the best months to visit Colombia. Because of its altitude, Bogotá’s temperatures are fairly constant throughout the year, ranging from 65f daytime to 48f nighttime and very little chance of rain. Cali and Armenia are lower altitude and a little warmer in August with highs of about 85f and lows around 60f – still very pleasant!
TRANSPORTATION ~ We use various modes of transportation including small regional commercial planes, vans, and taxis. There will also be an opportunity for a leisurely horse ride in the hills.
PHYSICAL EXERTION ~ Moderately High Exertion (4 of 5) – Due to the altitude and the steep hills, we consider this tour more physically challenging than most of our tours. In order to be able to enjoy all the tour has to offer, tourists should be physically agile and be comfortable walking at a leisurely but constant pace at altitude for 15 minutes at a time. Irregular steps and uneven streets are common. There are opportunities for more strenuous hikes for those looking for more challenges.
