About this trip

Friendly competition and hands-on challenges will take you and your teammate just outside your comfort zone on a blind date with Central America. This delightful adventure will follow a surprise itinerary that reveals itself as the trip unfolds. We plan the details and give you a packing list.

What’s included

  • Daily Challenges
At least one daily challenge is what makes a Competitours trip a Competitours trip. Get ready for real sight-DOING!
  • Accommodations
We won't be spending much time in our hotels, but of course we have you covered every night.
  • Breakfast Each Morning
You'll need that boost of energy as you wake up each day if you want ANY chance of walking away victorious in that day's challenge(s).
  • Daily Transportation
This isn't a race, so we will go to/from/between each hotel and challenge activity together each day. Whether by boat, tuk-tuk, bus or train, we'll cover those costs.
  • Prizes (for the winners)
The top three teams will walk away with a valuable prize - it's not a $1,000,000 though, sorry.

What’s not included

  • Positioning Flights
Getting to and from our starting/ending points is your responsibility. Sorry, tough luck.
  • Data Plans and WhatsApp
We use WhatsApp as our main form of communication during the trip. Be sure you are all set with a viable international data plan, and have the WhatsApp app downloaded before departure.
  • Food/Drink
While we do provide daily breakfasts, all other meals (that aren't part of a daily challenge) are at your own expense.
  • Travel Insurance
If you would like to purchase travel insurance, you'll have to take care of that on your own.
  • Visas
Do you need special authorization to travel around Central America for 10 days? Make sure you get all your ducks in a row before you board that flight - we don't have friends in high places, sorry!
  • Spending Money
Yea, you'll have to buy that shot glass, trivet and magnet with money from your own piggy bank.

Competitours runs team-travel competition trips for businesses and individual travelers to various regions around the world. The company was founded by the “OG Evil Genius,” Steve Belkin back in '09; his healthy dose of insanity, and his unhealthy dose of Type-C personality, made Competitours the company it is today. After over a decade, Steve finally hung up his Steely Dan hat and passed the baton to Ari Charlestein. Ari brings the same tenacity and mystique to each Competitours trip, and is excited to grow the company to new heights.

This is a one-of-kind experience that I am so glad I did (and I’m not even a competitive type). We met great people, learned new things (including about ourselves), saw amazing places, and laughed a lot. Totally worth it.

We had a good time exploring portions of Europe and participating in challenges with a set of other teams. The trip leaders kept things running smoothly and allowed us free time to explore locations on our own. We had hoped to visit another country or two, but visiting 6 countries in 11 days is still quite the itinerary. We didn't appreciate the allowed collusion of teams or the lack of challenge diversity on the final day. Overall, it was a decent experience.

Competitours Europe 2024 was a lot of fun! The challenges were all very unique and appropriate. It was clear that they were arranged custom for this trip. If you looked through a list of typical "things to do" in each city / country, you would not find these experiences for the most part. The choice of cities were mostly unique as well and virtually all of the hotels were of a 3 to 4-star level. The daily breakfast was great, although some were missed due to early start times. One of the best parts was getting to know the other participants. The competition itself was fun and loose, the goal is not really to compete, but to have fun. Definitely would recommend this trip!

Thanks Ari for an awesome trip! We had such a fantastic time doing unusual and engaging activities like canyoning, lassoing stuff, making chocolate, salsa dancing, and surfing. We will definitely be joining you again on another Competitours!
