About this trip

We really enjoyed our tour of Comuna 13 with Alejandro!  He was knowledgeable and we felt like we were touring with a local from the community who knew its history and people.  He was also so knowledgeable of the history of Colombia as a whole and thoughtfully answered our many questions.

My wife and I booked the this tour and let me tell you.....it was nothing short of amazing!  There isn't a nicer, safer, and more kind tour guide than Andres.  Born and raised in Medellin, he has an unmeasurable amount of knowledge about the local area and Colombia in general.  We learned first-hand how coffee beans are picked, graded, sorted, and shipped to the local co-op for grading and additional packaging.  You will taste and learn what makes the finest coffee in the world.  To put things into perspective, I think that coffee beans are more scrutinized than grapes are for fine wine.  This is a private tour....just you and Andres.  We will absolutely book another tour in the future.  It will be Guatape or the Medellin tour.

Another great trip with land venture. Viewing coffee making at a small farm not at all touristy. Visited Concordia which was lovely. Great guide in Andres. 

I had a great tour to Guatape. Andres was a very informative guide and I would recommend the tour to anyone wishing to see that area of Colombia.

 From the moment I was picked up I felt like a guest.  This trip was out of this world. The two farms I went to felt like I was in  a movie, with rolling hills, epic flowers and greenery to blow your mind. Jardín is a quaint town with a chill vibes. I’d do this all again in heart beat.

Airport transfers Medellin

Our trip to the rock, Guatape and the boat ride on the reservoir was a blast! Juan was a super tour guide — very thoughtful and informative. The view from the top of the rock was gorgeous, and Juan made sure we arrived early enough to avoid the crowds. Good move. The town was colorful and interesting to see. Fun shopping, and Juan pointed out particularly beautiful, descriptive designs. We also enjoyed the boat ride across the reservoir with Ricardo as it is beautiful! Very fun day. Our 4 adult children loved it too. Thank you!

We had a wonderful experience learning how coffee is made on the Concordia coffee farm tour. The drive was long with many, many switchbacks, but the scenery was spectacular and Andres shared interesting information about the history and the sights. Our 4 adult children enjoyed the dogs and peacocks on the farm as well as learning about the coffee making process. We loved picking coffee berries above the farm as the views were stunning.  We thoroughly enjoyed going into the very authentic town to buy coffee from the farm, and the lunch was wonderful and relaxing. Andres was a great tour guide. Thank you for a wonderful day!!

This was a very authentic tour in Concordia area close to Medellin. This is def. designed for people who love coffee but has incredible scenery along the way, experienced during off roads alongside coffee beans hills, enjoying the views and the smells of the region. I am very happy we got to do this with Andre with explained to us how to make good coffee. My nephew and I enjoyed every bit of it and are thankful to Andre for sharing his knowledge and love for the country. I highly recommend this your and this agency to folks who want to experience what the country is all about.

Andres was a great host - personable, knowledgeable, and a good communicator and translator. The owner of the coffee finca had asked us to show up a bit later than planned, so Andres took us to a breakfast spot in his neighborhood for palitos de queso and bunuelos. We then stopped at Parque de Inflexion, dedicated to the victims of the Medellin cartel. After that he drove us to the finca just outside Medellin (in Sabaneta I believe) and we toured the finca and even got to pick coffee cherries. The hosts then made coffee for us in several ways and let us buy some of their roasted beans before Andres drove us back to El Poblado in Medellin. 

Express Coffee Tour Medellin

I cannot recommend this excursion enough! Juan picked us up at our hotel and drove us all the way from Rionegro to the ranch which took at least an hour, but what a beautiful drive it was!  He was an excellent and knowledgeable guide giving us history on every town we drove through, answered all of our questions, was very friendly and professional and played great music on the drive to the ranch.  Thank you Juan!!

As for the ride- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.  This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Colombia.  The ride was incredibly breathtaking in a natural and secluded area surrounded by the Andes Mountains.  The horses were very well behaved and very well cared for.  One of the reasons I chose this excursion was because the horses looked healthy in the photos (I'm a horse owner myself)- this isn't your typical pay to ride a skinny/brain dead horse in a slow line down a trail.  These are loved animals that you get to share a gorgeous ride through the mountains with.  I was honored to get to share the adventure with Medalla, she was a joy to ride! 

After our ride we ate a delicious home-cooked meal by Joanna that turned out to be our favorite meal during our trip and our first experience of authentic Colombian food.  It was fresh and really hit the spot after our long ride- gracias Joanna! :)

If you're looking for an incredible horseback ride, please take advantage of this opportunity!  I cannot recommend it enough!

Medellin Cattle Ranch Horseback riding experience

This trip was SO much fun! I guess I have a thing where I like to go horseback riding in all the different places I travel to (e.g. I got engaged while horse backing riding in Argentina) and this was by far my favorite horseback riding experience. Andres is so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about the land, country, and horses. The drive to the property was stunning and he took off to off the beaten path places to try his favorite arepas for breakfast. When we got to the property, we were taken away with how beautiful it was. The mountains, rolling hills, and the abundance of lush flora was truly breathtaking. 
The ride was the perfect length. About 2 hours and we had plenty of time to take in the scenery on our ride. My sister and I felt very safe on our horses. 
When we were done we were given a delicious lunch that was freshly prepared while we were out riding. 
When we go back to Medellin we will definitely want to do an excursion with Andres again! 

My husband and I had a great time doing the tour with Andres. He went through the history of the places he brought us to see. It was an experience that we won't forget! I would highly recommend Andres and all the tour guides that he has to offer, you won't regret it. Thank you Andres for the great time. 

This was an amazing trip. Andres is so knowledgeable and connected to the community. We learned a lot, saw so many beautiful scenes, and felt like we got out of the tourist zone and into real Colombia. Would highly highly recommend!

A lifetime wish come true! As a dedicated coffee drinker, every day I go through the ritual of making coffee, no matter which method I use I dream of seeing where it comes from, and how it transforms from a berry and ends-up in my cup.

I couldn't have wished for more from this tour, I'd love to go again! Andres drove me across the lush and beautiful countryside, pointing out flora and birds along the way, describing the history of coffee in Colombia as we climbed the winding roads to Concordia - we had breakfast on the way - where we drank coffee and saw and experienced the coffee selection, grading and brokering process: fascinating and inspiring (I now want to grow my own coffee...)!  

We then went to a coffee plantation and picked a goodly amount of coffee berries, Andres is a wealth of knowledge and information about coffee, the plant and its processing, the coffee industry and its history and we then went and processed the berries and I saw - and took part - in the coffee processing cycle: fascinating and exciting! I got to drink the coffee, when roasted and ground using beans from the plantation that I'd just picked berries from. I now revere workers in the coffee industry - they work so hard to produce the best drink in the world!

We ended-up at Andres' ranch where we had a super, traditional Colombian lunch and I learned more of the Colombian coffee culture and life in Colombia.... this is a coffee-lovers', nature-lovers', bird-lovers' dream of a tour; I can't recommend it highly enough! And in such a beautiful setting of the countryside of Colombia.

This was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of our trip!!! We could not have better things to say about it - our tour guide, Juan, was so amazing and knowledgable. We loved learning from him and had some amazing discussions altogether. Concordia is beautiful, and every step of the coffee tour was exquisite - from picking the berries ourselves, the breathtaking view of the coffee farm as we ascended up the mountains, seeing where the coffee is sold and packaged, and the AMAZING home cooked lunch at the end. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our group is still raving about this experience a month later. This is a must-do!!

Was picked up at our hotel by tour guide Sarah.   She was extremely energetic and very generous with her time.  She also seemed quite knowledgeable.  We had a long day with her and it was well with it.  

Amazing Experience! The passion Juan had for everything he showed us was very evident and contagious. If you want to truly experience everything Colombia has to offer with a team that is focused on providing the best experience, look no further.

We would highly recommend this day trip to anyone. We traveled with our two kids and they enjoyed it just as much. Our guide, Juan was the best part of the trip! 

We had a great time. Concordia is beautiful. We had a great experience. Andres is an excellent guide..The views at the horse ride were espectacular. The food great. The best tour we had in Medellin.

We went to this tour with another traveler that did not speak Spanish but Andrés made sure that everyone understood the different experiences in both Spanish and English. 

Weather conditions were also amazing this day. 

Excellent service provided by Andres. The main street to Guatape was closed due to weather conditions and Andres drove to another amazing detour that was even better experiences since we were able to see nature and roads with an adventure experience. 

Then we ate at the town and even do some shopping.
