Costa Rica Adventure Retreat- March 30-April 6th, 2019
We are so excited to head down to the beautiful "Osa" , Costa Rica again! We will be your hosts, Michelle Gierst & Pam Hodge Smith (with special guest instructor Jeremy Godo Kiss).
El Tumbo De Las Olas has been our summer nesting place for the last 8 years and we want to share this beautiful place & retreat center with you. www.tumboresort.com March 30th to April 6, 2019.
El Tumbo is a private luxury eco-lodge set on five acres where the ocean and rainforest meet in a stunning embrace. Tumbo's Casa Grande is a two story luxury estate with a floor plan designed for communing with friends, family, and the natural world. The open walls and unique architectural fingerprint invite the sights and sounds of the land to captivate and enchant guests.
We are inviting those from near and far to come enjoy this sacred space which has been specially designed with a unique architectural fingerprint supporting a wide range of practices and a unique interaction with the surrounding jungle. The property is a prefect yoga/pilates haven, an exotic adventure retreat and a miniature private resort experience all wrapped into one. Tumbo's yoga shala is unlike any other and practicing in this space in the jungle is an experience to remember.
Other activies while staying at El Tumbo will be stand up paddling, paddle surfing, surfing, (maybe learning to surf the calm waters of Pan Dulce bay), hiking, waterfalls, tree climbing, playing with monkeys or just sitting by the pool or hammock relaxing.
The Osa is one of the most beautiful and wild parts of this country and home to 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity. Osa is the only place in Costa Rica where you’ll find four species of monkeys—squirrel, spider, white-face capuccin and howler monkey—and Osa is one of Central America’s best locations for birders. Nearby Corcovado National Park is home to many of the country’s endangered animals such as pumas, jaguars, scarlet macaws and the great harpy eagle.
Experience the intensity and inspiring majesty of the Osa Rainforest and the Golfo Dulce. Appreciate the diversity and natural beauty of the Costa Rican country and its culture. Indulge in healthy, inspiring dishes, incorporating a wide selection of locally sourced fresh organic ingredients by two brilliant Costa Rican Chefs, Sandra and Angelica.

Costa Rica is a tropical environment with daytime temperatures ranging from mid 75's to mid 85's and night time temperatures around 8-10 degrees cooler. Water temperature is about 82-85 degrees. There can be rain and it can be humid but the cool amazing water of Pan Dulce or the pool located on site will keep you in perfect temperature.
The retreat center is located outside of Puerto Jimenez about 40 minute drive at the tip of the Cabo Matapalo, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
In addition to your everyday attire, keeping in mind Costa Rica's weather while you're visiting, we recommend a bathing suit, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, slippers (flip-flops), a light rain jacket or sweatshirt and hiking shoes or old tennis shoes to hike in. Once your spot is booked we will send you a full packing list.
The most important thing is to come with an open mind and positive attitude. You'll be sharing meals and car rides with your hosts and fellow participants. While your hosts will provide the majority of your adventure descriptions and yoga training, the goal of each retreat is to build strong bonds between all those in attendance, to share knowledge and struggles with each other and to walk away from this experience with confidence, inspiration and focus to return home.
Thank you!
Michelle
