About this trip

Cotopaxi is the Ecuador’s most popular volcano with its great climbing experience for those new to climbing and for experienced too. Cotopaxi its one of the world’s highest active volcanos, 5,897 m (19,347 ft). has an incredible cone snow-capped crater.

 The climb up to the summit of Cotopaxi is not highly technical, but it does require proper acclimatization.

The training day its a big help for your oxigenation period at a high altitud, we can do it in 2 different areas Rumiñahui or Illiniza, from Latacunga or Machachi area, these are full days that includes, entrance, english and spanich speaking guide, transport and a meal on the hike

Itinerary

Day 1
Jose Ribas Refuge at 4860 meters above sea level

the guide will pick you up at latacunga or other city close to the National Park Entrance, to drive with you to the office from the park rangers (Control) here he will give the list to the park rangers and continue driving for 26 kilometers to the parking lot at 4500m, where will carry all the equipment for 1 kilometer to the refuge at 4860 m 1 hour walk, once at the refuge will rest a bit and will do a practice at the glacier to learn how to use the equipment and safety regulations, at the end we will have an early dinner and rest for the next day adventure
