About this trip

Here at Cuscun we don’t just cook, you can also combine your cooking class with a tour of the market to learn more about Guatemalan food, culture and every day life.

During our visit to the market you will learn all about Guatemalan fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices while we purchase fresh foods direct from local growers to use in our class.

The class includes all the ingredients, bilingual guides/chefs, hands on cooking class, a beverage and transportation!

All of our tours begin and end with an authentic experience traveling in a pick up  truck or chicken bus. We are happy to coordinate pick up at your hotel, hostel or homestay in any part of  central Antigua. Additionally, you can arrive directly at our school in Jocotenango via tuc tuc for 20 quetzales – just ask them to take you to the “gasolinera puma en Jocotenango” and we will be waiting outside for you!

Such a fun experience in Antigua Guatemala! We booked the market trip as well as the cooking workshop and it was absolutely amazing! We loved that for the market tour it was just us and Dario so it really felt like a personalised experience and we could ask him all the questions and he would kindly answer. He is a really funny but also professional guy, we really loved every minute of it! Thank you Dario, thank you Cuscun team

Dario was a fantastic instructor, we had so much fun preparing all of the foods, learned new chopping skills (Guatemalan style). The food was fantastic , I highly recommend taking this cooking class.

Our family was enthralled for our entire chocolate making class! Sophie was a wonderful teacher - giving us a history lesson and culinary experience. Our group ranges in ages of 6 to adult and we all enjoyed our time. Definitely add it to your must do!
