Perfect for photo shoots, elopements or honeymoon adventures, group retreats, or whatever you're dreaming up. 4 hours.
Tell us what you're dreaming up!
In 4 hours we can get out sailing, stop and anchor along the way, stay at the dock, break it into 2 shorter sails for larger groups, or all of the above! Maybe you'd like us to pick you up and/or drop you off at Lowell Point? You can bring your own food, beverages, flowers & photographer to customize as you wish.
Get out sailing.
You can enjoy the ride from anywhere on the boat. Guests are welcome to do as much raising sails, taking the helm, and trimming the sheets as you feel comfortable. Be prepared for the boat to heel, or lean, up to 45 degrees while sailing into the wind, which is often heading South away from Seward. Sailing downwind is typically more level and comfortable, typically on the return sail back to Seward.
Wind Conditions
The best time to have lighter wind or no wind is in the mornings before noon.
Wind starts to pick up around noon every day and builds as the afternoon goes on. Typically 10-15 knots and 2 ft seas. Around 5pm at the head of the bay near Seward, water can be choppy and see lots of boat traffic. It typically stays windy until around 9pm. Of course, conditions vary daily.
Anchoring
Stopping to anchor will allow more comfortable movement around the boat. You could have a picnic out in the cockpit or an elegant dinner party down below, catered or cooked aboard. Maybe inflate the stand up paddle boards or inflatable party animals? Our captain can haul a dinghy to shuttle people to/from shore. *For most comfortable conditions, wind should be light with calm seas. Before noon is the best
Anchoring with beach access
*We recommend booking at least an extra hour for shore excursions. +$150/hour
There are a few beach options where we could stop to anchor and get to shore if desired. We would tow a dinghy along to be able to transport guests 2-3 people at a time. We will try our best to keep you dry, but there could be wet seats, splashing, and steep shorelines that may require tall rain boots. (The anchoring options in Resurrection Bay are unprotected in the case of choppy waters and extreme wind).
*Thumb Cove is the most reliable option for beach access. Thumb Cove is a picturesque and protected destination for anchoring, surrounded by 3 hanging glaciers, and easy access to get to beaches. It would be best to book our 8 hour trip or the heli/sail option to get to Thumb Cove.
Staying at the dock
A great option for taking photos inside or out of the boat and ensuring that the boat will remain stable. This is also a great option for a wedding venue, allowing guests to watch from the boat or dock. At dock, your party size is not limited to only 6 people.
4 hours. What if we want more time?
We would be happy to take you out longer! An additional $150 hourly fee applies per hour. This can be charged at the time of booking or paid before the trip is completed.
Can I bring alcohol?
Yes. You can bring your own food, beverages, flowers, decorations & photographer to customize as you wish. Alcohol is permitted as long as we do not serve it. For more info on what amenities the boat has to offer, see the “Bareboat Charters” tab on our website.
Limited to 6 passengers on the vessel at a time. This is limited by our USCG captain's license.
