About this trip

9:00 a.m - One of our expert bilingual guides will meet you at your hotel lobby, once you meet him you will drive to the Iximche Ruins. Visit the closest Mayan ruins to Lake Atitlan. These well preserved ruins include pyramid-temples, ball-courts, royal palaces, a museum with the different artifacts that were found in this city. Built over 1000 years ago, this site is worth exploring. Mayan rituals are still performed at this site. Learn about the ancient Mayan civilization and how in the modern day Mayas view their culture as well as come to this sacred place to do their mayan ceremonies. After we visit this place we will drive to a restaurant for lunch located near the town to later drive back to your hotel.

The tour will end sometimes around 2 - 3pm back at your hotel or with drop off at your next destination.

Benjamin was a kind and knowledgeable guide! We learned a lot and also enjoyed a wonderful walk to start our morning. We saw many birds and also learned about local plants. We did not get breakfast but ended the tour in Jaibalito where there were many good brunch options.

Great tour.! Our guide Domingo was amazing! We had two senior citizens in our group for part of the day and he was so helpful and accommodating. Very knowledgeable…. Gave all kinds of interesting information and history about the area. He also got us reservations at great local spots even on during a holiday. The three teens in my group say Domingo is a”W”.

This was wonderful trip! We were a large work group on a company retreat and the tour company was incredibly organized and accommodating. Our guides were so kind and knowledgeable, and everyone agreed it was a wonderful and magical experience. The tour sort of has everything, not only do you get to experience the beautiful lake and scenery, you also get to learn about Mayan culture, history, crafts, food, etc. Which, is particularly nice if you don't have a ton of time in the country. We never felt rushed, and really enjoyed our tour. Would definitely recommend!
