The Living Mountain Retreat

Wonderful experience with like-minded women, sharing incredible nature and scenery, delicious food, connection as well as personal space and peace. Catherine and Katie are inspiring in leading us all to discover new things about the world around us and ourselves. 


Since the beginning of our relationship, Inspired has been super helpful in designing our trips. Bolivia is not the easiest place to travel around, and having a local operator helps us to make sure everything runs smoothly. Guests loved it and we had an amazing time, once again :)

I joined the Bolivia Photo Workshop hosted by Ricardo and Leo through WeTravel, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. I felt safe at all times, and Bolivia turned out to be the perfect backdrop for a photo workshop like this — vast landscapes, surreal light, and endless creative opportunities.

The itinerary was well thought out, with a great selection of accommodations and plenty of time to explore and shoot in the salt flats. The highlands were a particularly unique and unforgettable part of the journey. Every day brought something new and inspiring, and Ricardo and Leo made sure we were always in the right place at the right time.

Highly recommend for anyone looking to elevate their photography in one of the most stunning regions on Earth.

EVA Travel - Tanzania

Tanzania was both heartwarming & magical I have never experienced such a trip with a group of females that I had never met. It started with first 4 days visiting a stunning waterfall then visiting a local tribe learning about their culture, cooking & having lunch with them, next we visited the children in the kindergarten which was heartbreaking & heartwarming where we helped paint walls (some ladies painting beautiful animals) then had lunch with the children & playing/singing & dancing with them then to visit the Massai tribe & learning about their culture & how they live. This was followed by 5 day safari including the Serengeti where we saw some amazing sights including the Big 5 it was amazing, spectacular a memory that will never leave.

Where do I start?  This trip to Tanzania was the best travel experience I've ever had.

Between the volunteering with children side-by-side with locals who are so passionate about their purpose, to the immersive tribal experiences - dancing, eating and sitting with tribe members as they share stories of their life, to the 5-day safari, where we were fortunate to see the Big 5 and the Great Migration right before our own eyes.

Do you know what it's like to wake up in your lodge in the middle of the Serengeti and have a giraffe outside?  I do.

Do you know what it's like to have a picnic on the ground with linens and real plates in the middle of a safari?  I do.

Do you know what it's like to sit in a hut hand-made by Maasai tribal members and hear about their life?  I do.

Do you know what's it like to share the day with young Swahili children having lunch, dancing, singing and sprucing up their new community center?  I do.

And you can, too.

Phillipine is a gem in the travel industry.  She is attentive, thorough and loves her country. She assures you are taken care of, safe and offers the best version of Tanzania you could ever have.

You won't regret it, you'll only wonder why you waited!

This was an amazing experience. My fellow travellers were great people. The arranged activities were fantastic and everyone was so welcoming. The safari was off the scale! We saw so many different species of animal. Jaw dropping! I loved every minute and would highly recommend this tour. The memories will stay with me forever.

This was one of the most meaningful trips I have been on. It was my first time in west Africa and I enjoyed every minute of it. It had a good mixture of history, culture and hands-on activities, and we were brilliantly looked after by our guide and driver in Ghana. The most significant moments for me were visiting the former slave fortresses, the naming ceremony, and meeting young students at the school supported by Ashanti African tours and contributing school books to them. I can't wait to explore more of Ghana and West Africa more broadly. 

Black Girls Hike - Ghana 2025

A true excursion. Super blessed to have had the opportunity to see and experience the Kyrgyzstan countryside. But I have to say my favorite part was the beautiful sisters I met in this process and the time we got to spend together. Absolutely EPIC views, cameras do NOT capture Allahs beautiful creation. I have made life long friends on this trip, all the lady are so precious in my heart. This trip was mentally, physically, and spiritually challenging... which is just what the doctor ordered (pre-Umrah). I'm still out on my adventures a month later, so I haven't yet processed. Nonetheless best memories in years and truly feel like I've changed in my heart for the better. I felt so comfortable as a muslim, as all the ladies were too. Stopping along our travels for salat was most appreciated. I loved how we grew with, learned from, and teased each other on our adventure. My favorite is the smiles on these sweet faces in all my picks (truly fills my cups). I have to say, I think my face is still stuck in this smile, which makes everyday a little better. Forever my sisters and for sure want to do another trip in the future. Thank you for being apart of spreading all good things Amira... kisses and hugs sister.

The Whale Shark Retreat

Trip of a lifetime!  What an incredible life experience.  Anna delivered time and again, just when you thought she couldn't outdo herself...she did it once again!  No detail left to chance.  It's hard to describe just what an amazing adventure this was.  The opportunity to witness these beautiful animals in their natural habitat was truly awe inspiring and humbling.  Our accommodations were second to none, attending to life's creature comforts while still allowing us to be in commune with nature.  To sit with coffee (or wine, depending on the hour of the day!) and bear witness to the parade of wildlife at the watering hole located merely yards away was one of my most fond memories (Hildana Lodge).  I could have watched quietly for hours.  And to see first hand the work and dedication of Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was nothing short of inspirational.  Time spent at the Nairobi Nursery with our "adopted" baby elephants will be carried in my heart for a lifetime.  As if that was not enough, the next leg of our adventure took us to the coast, which brought full moon paddle boarding with yoga, mangrove exploration and an epic tidal "float" that carried us along effortlessly with the outgoing ocean tide.  Each excursion was thoughtfully curated to deliver a life experience that will never be forgotten.  This is what travel should be.  Ever grateful to Anna and her team.

The Wanderlust Women - Morocco Surf Adventure 2024

Simply magical!  
One of the best holidays ever. 
Meeting the elephants at Sheldrick was really special.  The beautiful lodges with stunning views of the wildlife were just amazing. The Tree House was an experience I'll never forget.  The whole trip was so very well organised with a few surprise thrown in here and there.  Anna was always on hand solving any questions or requests.  I'd happily do this trip all over again, every year!

Ladies Safari Beach Yoga in Kenya (GBP)

I don't even know how to begin to convey in words how incredible this trip was. A group of unknown women thrown together in a situation so far from every day life you cant really imagine, I had quite literally the time of my life. Learning about the charity's work with the elephants and how nature sustains life between the animals and plants that call the desert their home and so much more on a personal level. Catherine has created a very special trip and all of the team made it something to remember. I highly recommend to any woman who needs a bit of adventure in her life. 

I had to great time at the Peak district hiking weekend. Met some amazing ladies and enjoyed the beautiful scenery whilst hiking. Anna and Angharad were great organisers and made sure we were all very well looked after. Looking forward to my next adventure with WHA!

Ladies Peak District Hiking Weekend

Well where do I start. It was the most amazing experience of my life! It’s really quite difficult to put into words just how life affirming this trip has been..I have a new lust for life and want to experience these types of trips more and more! The people who took care of us  from chefs (yes the food was that good!) to trackers to drivers etc were absolutely awesome. They are so passionate about what they do it’s really quite something to witness, It’s warming to know that there are wonderful people out there who care so much for the Elephants. And then over to our Matriarch Catherine, well I have no words this amazing women is everything you would want your daughter, Aunty , Mother to be, strong, have a zest for life, and adventure and share’s all the best things she has to offer and more! Just bloody awesome. Don’t hesitate to book because I can guarantee you will not regret it and it will change you for the better! 😁

Incredible! Incredible from beginning to end. A well organised and unique journey into the beautiful Namibian desert with a group of like-minded women. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and wildlife. We had the privilege of seeing some of the desert elephants - Wow, just wow! 
Catherine and the team from EHRA were amazing. Any expectations /hopes that I might have had were exceeded by far.  This experience is hard to put into words but it is an experience which is one of a kind and one that I will certainly cherish. 

The Matriarch Adventure

I had a wonderful time in the most stunning and beautiful surroundings in the Namibian desert.
And it was the best experience to connect with nature and yourself. I loved it and would totally do it again.

Every small thing was covered and I can’t recommend this opportunity enough. Namibia is a beautiful country and definitely worth exploring.

I did not know what to expect from the Matriarch Adventure but wow~what a perfect antidote to our stressful high tech disconnected lives…The landscapes, sunrises, plant life, animals and people we met were all special and magical. This was an oasis of calm and contentment like never before. Catherine unobtrusively holds a safe and supportive space, and added some beautiful touches which made the week complete. I will be drawing on those memories for years to come. 

As a first time solo traveler, I felt a bit apprehensive arriving but Anna and Anghared immediately put me at ease and I felt very comfortable. I met lots of like minded adventure travel enthusiasts which was great! Felicity, leading the hikes was brilliant. Really encouraging and supportive. The two hikes were varied and just the right pitch for me, so the boot levels on Anna's website were very accurate. The accommodation was perfect for what we required, lovely communal areas and basic but fine bedrooms. We had some great conversation at the dinners, breakfasts and whilst on the walks. I will not hesitate to recommend to friends, in fact I already have!  I hope I will be able to go on another of Anna's trips in the not too distant future! Thank you.


This trip is unique - it's a combination of the known and the unknown, the town and the desert, noise and silence, wildlife and humanity. The support team are amazing - welcoming, flexible, calm, and informative ... and they provide amazing food! You can't help but enjoy the company of all the other women on the same trip - we have the elephants in common! And the stars are visible above you at night as you lie on the warm earth listening to unusual Namibian noises.

Extraordinary- Catherine’s expertise, kindness and leadership could not be faulted. Amazing landscapes, fantastic wildlife, delicious food and an excellent group of women to spend time with. 

I had an amazing time in Brazil. The hiking was great and we saw the wildlife up close. The cultural events were varied, brilliant and very hands on. I was worried the pace might be too much but it was perfect. A good balance. Everything was thought of and I felt we got a full experience of all that Brazil has to offer. The guides were passionate and informative about their culture, city and country and made us feel welcome. The people were friendly. Everyone we encountered was lovely. I never had a dull moment and honestly, I enjoyed every minute of it. It was an adventure. I have already booked another trip and I'm already looking forward to it.

Uganda September 2024

I had a brilliant holiday. The food was nice and the accommodation beautiful. A well organised trip, that fit a lot of activities into the nine days. Thank you for making a brilliant trip to Uganda!

Mind blowing experience, from the moment I steped foot on the ground in Entebbe until I sat down 10 days later in the plane to fly back home. The organisation from A to Z was faultless and everyone went the extra mile and more.

This was an amazing trip. I went because I really wanted to see Gorillas but it was so much more. Uganda is a great country - so much to see and do. I got to see so many different animals. 
The group of women I travelled with were the best - Anna from Wild Hearted, was incredible, as were our partners on the ground - Acacia safaris. 
Everything about the trip was perfect - the people, the animals, the accomodation. It was the trip of a lifetime. 

From start to finish, this was an incredible trip. From the accommodations, to the transportation, food and beverage, and of course activities and excursions, everything was mapped out wonderfully, and everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful the entire duration of the trip. 

The only comment I will make about the excursions (hot air balloon, helicopter, etc) is that I wish we were able to sort those a bit sooner and get confirmations sooner as well, but otherwise the hot air ballon experience was completely seamless and I enjoyed it so much with the rest of the crew who attended! 

Jeffrey is an AMAZING host, photographer, and human with a heart of gold. I would definitely book another photography trip with him  in the future, and will 100% recommend his trips to friends. It was a trip of a lifetime and I'll remember it forever!

An exhilarating, exhausting voyage of discovery, the limits of personal strength both physical and mental tested and endured. I would recommend Anna, our amazing leader in a heartbeat as she sorted through a myriad of issues to help us achieve our goal to climb Kilimanjaro. Wild Hearted Adventures - Kilimanjaro Climb 2024

A wonderful adventure with a wonderful team and companionship. Although the itinerary was packed but we managed to cover almost everything Alhamdulillah! 

Overall we had fun and this trip gave me the opportunity to discover the beauty of South America in terms of landscape and people. Kudos and thanks to the Wanderlust team - Amira and Ayisha.

Wanderlust Women - Peru

It was a wonderful trip with the company of amazing people. We came in as strangers and left as friends. The sites, venues we visited was amazing and the leads did an amazing job modifying the trip to accompany people’s state of health. 

Had a wonderful time, great accommodations, wonderful food, and the hikes were fun stress-relievers!

Thank you for organising such a wonderful trip! I was a bit nervous initially as it was my first hiking trip. However, I came back very satisfied. 

The stay was comfortable, delicious food and met some lovely ladies.

I had a great time. Anna is a great organizer and a lovely person. I got to know a lot of ladies, had great conversations, all the while walking in the beautiful lake district. I loved it and will want to join another of Anna’s trips in the future. 

Ladies Lake District Hiking Weekend with Wild Hearted Adventures

My trip to Ghana was an exciting one, with a full and non stop itinerary that provided a good snapshot of Ghana, leaving me with memories that I will cherish for a long time. Three things that I think could be improved:                                                                                                1) The rooms that I stayed in at one resort, I moved twice due to the first room not being ready/available, I then moved to a room that had no lock on the bathroom door and the door did not fit in the frame, after one final move the next day I was satisfied.                                                                                                                                          
2) I'm a vegan and I found some not all of the places we ate at didn't necessarily have much choice when it came my dietary needs.

Black Girls Hike - Ghana 2024

Overall I had a great time. It was a privilege to visit Ghana for the first time in the company of a truly excellent group of women brought together by Black Girls Hike. However the itinerary information needs to be rewritten to more accurately reflect the day to day programme. Most obviously there was NO rest day. The programme should be revised on days 3-5, in particular, to avoid unnecessary excessive travel in the coach to provide for the promised rest day. A couple of half rest days, or early finishes, could also be organised to allow the group to enjoy their hotels and to have some down time. This would enhance what is a good programme. Thanks are due to Inspired for the support provided with visas and to Ashanti African Tours for their excellent guides and driver. 

The whole trip was amazing from the people I met to the amazing culture of Morocco. I enjoyed trying new food and activities and walking away with new skill. The people were nice, forming a community helping each other and having fun together, forming memories. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Was an eye opener.

Wanderlust Women - Morocco Surf Adventure

I really enjoyed my trip with the Wanderlust Women. The organisation of all the activities were smooth and the food, transport and accommodation was delivered as expected. It was great to meet a bunch of interesting women and engage in different activities together. Amira and all the staff looking after us were friendly, accommodating and available to help whenever we needed it. All the information received before the trip was accurate and very helpful in preparing for the activities.

There are four things I would provide feedback on for next time. The first is the number of activities; the trip was jam packed and I think the intense nature of the activities necessitated more rest time than expected. It would also have been nice to have some more restful experiences e.g. sunset resting on the beach, to allow for the healing and reflective elements of the trip. My second recommendation would be to do this trip in a warmer month. Swimming regularly in the cold with little rest was a reason many participants got ill, and the wind and cold made the activities less comfortable. 

Thirdly, I think the trip organisers could integrate remembrance of Allah into the trip more. I was quite surprised that salah was not really factored into the daily plans, especially as while Morocco is a Muslim country, prayer spaces are not easily available. It would additionally have been good to bond with the girls through praying together, a short reminder session or introducing an Islamic theme so we can benefit from the barakah. Finally, while I understand that some factors are beyond the control of the organisers, the lack of female instructors impacted my comfort in participating in the water sports. While we were covered, water activities are immodest for men and women, and being in the water in close proximity with the instructors didnt feel appropriate. Without this guarantee, in either a different place or having a firm backup, I would find it difficult to recommend this trip to other sisters as most I know would have backed out entirely if they had to be close to men in their burkinis. 

Alhamdulilah im really grateful for the time I got to spend with the Wanderlust Women and look forward to attending more trips in the future!

If you are not sure you could do it, give it a go, you might surprise yourself. Can’t wait for my next adventure x 

Peak District Hiking Weekend

I had a great trip. Nice to meet so many lovely women. The weather on Saturday was sunny and nice. I would go again! 

So the leader Anna was very welcoming, all accommodation clean , and as you would expect at a hostel. The food was satisfactory but not particularly inspiring, but again it would be what was expected in the premises. The timetable of the two walking days did not really take into account the daylight hours, and the distance that a lot of the group had driven. I would have preferred to set off earlier, especially as the weather was so glorious. The abilities of the group could have led to a two group day. There were some who really struggled, and those who were there to walk in, were left feeling a bit in limbo at the top of the hills. 
The sad situation of Anna losing a relative did not deter her, and she kept her chin up, whilst obviously concerned for her family st home. 
The only other query I thought of was whether there should be a deeper questionnaire re fitness/ activity.. this may support the grouping etc if that was considered viable. 
Anevening speaker would have been interesting, maybe local rescue charity members, who like to chat and install a few safety tips onto the listeners..?  The talk on altitude walking ended up with too many what if questions around medicine rather than sharing the guides actual experiences.. 

Great location and wonderful mix of women to share the weekend with.
A late start to Saturday morning meant arriving back at the hostel late and tired but the yoga was perfect before dinner.
Hosts were great and food was fantastic which made up for lack of working lights and shower in our room.

It was a lovely, well planned weekend.  Anna very thoughtfully did a mingling exercise on the first evening which was a great way for us solo travellers to mix with other ladies.  Would definitely recommend and attend another of Anna’s holidays.

I had a great time on this trip and met some lovely people who were all so friendly. 
The trip was very well organised and it was nice not to have to do the thinking and planning that is involved. 
It meant I could just enjoy it. 
I have already booked the next one! 

An incredible and truly life-changing trip. This is a wonderful balance of citizen science, personal development and awe-inspiring activities including snorkeling with whale sharks, snorkeling coral reefs and visiting Chole island. You will come away with a deep appreciation for this beautiful and little known area of Tanzania.
The staff at Afro's Whale Shark Tours (who you snorkel with) are the best people and we had so much fun every time we were on the boat with them. Love Her Wild have deep relationships with all the local providers and you can see that they are friends as much as they are colleagues. I do  not have words for how much I would recommend this trip!

It was an amazing trip from start to finish. Great communication throughout and well coordinated. Food was delicious and each day was jam packed with fun and learning. And whale sharks. Would highly recommend

Incredible expedition, local ground crew were amazing. Fantastic wild camping, very tasty fresh food. A truly once in a lifetime experience to unplug from life and just be present. A bit disappointed that the trip was marketed differently on the conservation side, would have been nice to know how the charity helps with the elephant conservation efforts.
