About this trip

DEPARTURE: Any day except Monday with a minimum of 2 people

DURATION: 10 hours with drop off in Cuenca / 13 hours round trip from Riobamba

DETAILS

Pick up from your hotel at 6.15 a.m. and drive to the traditional highland town of Alausi, the starting point of the famous Devil’s Nose train ride. This railroad, constructed around 1900, is considered one of the world’s masterpieces of railway engineering; a zig-zag carved out of the rock, which allows the train by a series of switchbacks to descend along the steep mountainside to the hamlet of Sibambe. After visiting the small Puñuna Condor Museum return by train to Alausi. From here we continue by car to the southern highlands. After lunch in a local hacienda we start the guided visit of Ingapirca, Ecuador’s most important Inca ruins. The highlight of the complex is the elliptically shaped Temple of Sun, designed by the Inca architects to worship the sun. You will learn about the Inca and Cañari history, and can take a short hike to, "La Cara del Inca".
Afterwards we continue to Cuenca (arrive at 16.00), or return to Riobamba (arrive at 19.30 p.m.)

Amazing experience. The guides were incredible too. Hats off to both Luis Miguel and Jorge for giving me an incredible day at Chimborazo! If I had time I would do it again.

We did the Bike&Hike Tour with our supernice Guide Miguel. Everything was perfect. The pick up from the Appartement, the trip to the refugio, the bikes and all the tips miguel gave us. He was super and made us a perfect day. Thank you Miguel.

We absolutely loved our Chimborazo mountain biking adventure! At the planning stages, this company promptly responded to my email questions and were accommodating to our schedule. On the tour, the guides were both incredibly friendly and helpful, and also made sure we would be safe (supplying safety gear and following behind in a car), which we really appreciated. The biking adventure took us along a trail with stunning views (made for beautiful pictures)! Can not recommend this company enough, they were awesome and helped make our whirlwind trip to Ecuador easy and unforgettable!

My husband and I did the 3-day Inca Trail trek, with Marciel as our guide. It was fantastic! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and patient. We both experienced mild altitude sickness during the beginning of the hike, and our guide made sure we continued at a comfortable pace and made recommendations along the way. The food was great, and we learned so much about the history of the trail and the region. The camping equipment works well and is very comfortable. The horsemen work really hard to ensure everything is set up in advance. Highly recommend this trek and the tour operator. They are very professional and answered a lot of questions in advance of the trip.

Our family had a great tour of Chimborazo. The views were stunning! We enjoyed the 2km hike, which gave us a small taste of what hiking is like at 16,000ft! The bike ride down on Route 2 was a blast. It was a mix of dirt roads, fun, loose trails, and pavement. Miguel was friendly and helpful! The bike tour is a perfect way to experience Chimborazo!
