About this trip

Join us onboard Emerald Cruises' new super yacht, the Kaia, as we sail the coastlines of the Adriatic Sea, from Dubrovnik on the Dalmatian Coast all the way up to Venice, Italy. The Kaia is being chartered exclusively for Robert Biale Vineyards, so expect a fantastic Biale celebration on board!

We are excited to explore Croatia as it is the birthplace of Zinfandel, which is known there by its original name Crljenak Kaštelanski (alsoTribidrag).

We will set sail in Dubrovnik on June 27, 2026, and will have ample time to explore the ports of Split, Zadar, Opatija, and Piran before arriving in Venice on July 4, 2026. You'll have your choice of multiple included shore excursions in each port.

There is plenty to keep everyone happily occupied on this new ship. From relaxing in a cabana by the infinity pool to jumping into the sea from the marina deck where you can swim or enjoy aqua toys, there will be no lack of fun activities.  Dining options range from casual to fine dining, all created by the talented chefs of the Kaia.  Complimentary wine (in addition to the wine from Robert Biale Vineyards), cocktails and beers are also provided for your enjoyment, ensuring there will be something to please everyone's tastebuds.

The world is your oyster onboard the Kaia, as we will have the ship chartered for our group. We want this to be your best vacation ever!

The trip met my expectations, but did not exceed them. Staff was great. Debbie's selections excellent overall. I was disappointed that I didn't have much in common with the other tour members, but that's a personal note and it's always the luck of the draw.

Tracy—thanks for your candid feedback. I am happy that we at least met your expectations. As you noted, with these kinds of groups, you can’t know in advance who you’re traveling with. That said, everyone did have a common love of food and wine. Just so you know, we can also organize a group for you and your friends, ensuring that you have lots in common with the other travelers. Let me know if you’d like to explore that in the future.

It was an extraordinary trip through Tuscany and Emilia Romagna with Wine Lovers Travel, exceeding every expectation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this would be more than just a typical wine and food tour—it was an immersive journey into the heart of Italian culture, craftsmanship, and hospitality. One of the most magical highlights was a private concert with an incredibly talented opera singer. Listening to such a powerful voice in an intimate setting was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it set the tone for the rest of our adventures. We also had the rare opportunity to see how parmesan cheese is made firsthand—a process steeped in tradition and meticulous care. The authenticity continued as we took a hands-on cooking class, learning the art of pasta-making. Watching prosciutto being made gave us a newfound appreciation for this delicacy, and the balsamic vinegar tasting opened our eyes to the complexities of this sweet, rich staple. And, of course, the wine tastings were exceptional—a true reflection of the region's deep-rooted wine traditions. As amazing as the destinations were, the experience was elevated even further by the incredible group of fellow travelers. The guests on this tour brought such warmth, humor, and curiosity to every stop, making every meal and conversation even more enjoyable. It truly felt like we were exploring Italy with friends, sharing laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments together.

We had a great time with great wine, food and people. It was also great that our group had the entire Nerol Bio Resort to ourselves. The daily itineraries were excellent, however, a bit too packed with things like cannolo and chocolate tastings. I would also recommend shortening the time spent in the bus, allowing everyone to spend more time in the small cities i.e. Marsala and Taormina. Overall, great fun!

Jim—thanks for sharing your feedback. So happy you had a great time traveling through Sicily, and that you appreciated our group having exclusive use of the resort! I do agree that some of the travel time was too long—it was a function of trying to visit a lot of Sicily, which is much larger than most people realize. Future trips will cover smaller geography, so shorter travel time. If guests want to see more, we can arrange customized extensions.

This was a great trip. There were a great deal of wineries and restaurants. My only recommendation would be not to schedule lunch and dinner on the same day because of the slow dinner mode. It ends up being 6 hours of dining. It would also be nice to browse a city for shopping built into the tour midweek.
By Janet C for Explore Piedmont's Wine Regions with Pelletiere Estate on Oct 31, 2023
Thank you so much Janet for your review! I do agree with you about the meals and also more free time for shopping and will factor this into future trips. Glad you and Chris had a great time. Really enjoyed getting to know you both. Gail
