Amazing trip of a lifetime!  Everything went perfectly for our two week group trip through the Galapagos and Ecuador. Activexpedition went above and beyond with all of the accommodations and itinerary.  Christian is an extremely organized and experienced guide and tour operator.  He pays attentions to all the needs of the group and is very generous with what he provides.  I highly recommend Activexpedition for adventure travel!

What can I say - Salud y Sonrisas Waorani can now be said to have "taken flight".  Incredible couple days - children (most of Bameno) all given complete diagnostic reviews.  Big thanks to all - Christian, Frances, Jhennifer, all the folks at Activexpedition and of course the Waorani who have accepted our efforts and treat us well when we come (except showing no mercy on the soccer pitch). Christian Valencia created the most amazing itinerary - biking Colonia, exploring historic Montevideo, kayaking on a farm stay, trekking thru the dunes of La Paloma, and enjoying the sites and scenes of Punta del Este. This was my 3rd adventure with AE and I'm already looking forward to my fourth!

Colombia MTB Enduro 8 days - A1-002D

This was a fantastic trip! An amazing mix of riding, local mountain bike culture, great food, coffee and incredible people! This was our second trip with AE and they continue to surpass expectations, taking care of every detail! 

We absolutely loved our trip to Ecuador.  The accommodations, the transport, the food, the activities - all excellent. Our guide was top notch and we felt very safe and informed throughout the trip. We loved the variety of adventures - hiking, biking, jungle trekking, caving, waterfalls, river rafting, thermal baths - and had so much fun with our entire family. The highlands and the jungle and everything in between was great.  We highly recommend Activexpedition and will use their services again!!!

We requested two custom changes to our trip and Active Expedition was so helpful to accommodate.
The first was a day of kayaking and visiting a local community. And what an experience it was!  Our kayaking guide, Diego, was wonderful. We loved that he brought a young boy from the community that he is mentoring to become a kayaking expert and guide himself - quite inspiring to see Diego's heart for the next generation. We'll never forget the ladies in the community. We felt their warm hospitality and enjoyed the amazing meal they prepared for us... absolutely delicious. 
The second was adding a city tour. We originally planned to use bikes, but our guide, Oscar, was quite wise to point out that the day we were planning to go was a holiday and the city would be quite crowded. Thank goodness he recommended a switching to a walking tour - it was fantastic!! We not only saw so much, but Oscar's incredible knowledge of history, culture, tradition and modern trends gave us such deep insight and appreciation for all that we were seeing and experiencing. 
I highly recommend anything arranged by Active Expedition!

This was a first class experience and was truly an adventure.  Our group of four girls had the greatest staff and guides.  Our Guide Daniel Maldonado was exemplary. We are grateful that our operator made the executive decision to have us camp in a shelter and not tents for three days due to inclement weather.  This decision and good judgment was key to a successful trip.  All of our needs, dietary restrictions, limitations, etc. were met by the team.  This was a five plus start trip and experience, and I cannot recommend this trip and operator enough.

Such a well rounded trip that allows you to experience a new place and new activity every day. We got so lucky to see Cotopaxi on a beautiful day. The homestay in the Amazon was my favorite. A great balance between activity and cultural. Byron was a fantastic guide as well!

Our experience was truly outstanding! We know that we were given a unique opportunity that we may never experience again. It was just the two of us on this trip with 2 phenomenal guides. Our guides could answer all of our questions, they provided safe transportation for us to and from the location, they had wonderful and genuine connections with the Waoranis tribe we were visiting and they were flexible with our schedule. We asked to make this trip into a 4 day experience and they accommodated us. Because we shorted the trip by a day they added an experience one of the mornings that we would have missed. 

Food: The hand cooked meals for breakfast lunch and dinner were some of the best we have ever had! Not only were they local dishes but they were absolutely delicious. They were the best we had our entire time in Ecuador! Each and every one was filling, presented beautifully and provided in the shelter made by the one of the Waorani tribal members overlooking a beautiful Laguna. At dinner we ate by candle light sharing wonderful conversations with our guides. If you are lucky enough to have Churri as your cook please tip him nicely at the end. 

Connections: Dani was our guide and he was absolutely outstanding. Not only did he have a tourism degree but he had also gotten his Masters in Biodiversity (or something to that degree). With over 10 years experience leading guided adventures all over Ecuador and Columbia we felt very safe and taken care of by Dani. He knew EVERYTHING about the flora and fauna. He was genuinely excited to teach us about the things we saw along our way, and his ability to communicate these ideas and concepts in English and Spanish was flawless. If all the guides are like Dani through active expeditions on this trip then you will have an unforgettable experience. 

Every time we were on the kayaks or walking in the jungle we were partnered with a Waorani tribal member. Their kids would join and were always helpful. They were very kind, and open to talking in Spanish if you are able to speak Spanish. It was truly an honor that they were willing to open up their home and world to us. On the final day you are invited to their community to harvest Yucca, buy some crafts they have made and see where they live. We did those things, but the most rewarding part was simply getting to hang out, play games with the kids until it got dark outside, and sit in their hut talking and sharing our common curiosities. Our only change to this experience would have been to do this part of our trip sooner so that we would have had these connections throughout the entire trip. 

If you are looking for an experience deeper in the jungle that isn't a cookie cutter Resort experience like the rest of your friends and family that have visited Ecuador than this is the experience for you. The kayaking is light and not too challenging. You'll see animals in their natural habitat with guides who know how and were to look. You'll stay in the jungle in shelters made by the tribal members with all that you need; a bed, a mosquito net, and access to a flushing toilet. The accommodations are simple so that you can have an experience as close to the jungle with modest comforts. The stars are simply outstanding. You'll got to sleep with jungle noises that people pay for and each day will be full and unique. 

This trip was recommended to us from a friend of a friend from Ecuador and we could not be more pleased and thankful for the opportunity.

Amazing and unique experience for all MTB lovers. Trails are a great mixture of pleasure and challenge. Guide is very friendly and the bikes are super nice. Helmets, knee protectors and gloves are provided.
Even though pricier than the standard tour offered, it’s a 100% worth it.
