About this trip

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of Iberian Wine Tours in early 2025, we are offering our very first wine tour to England. When Steven Spurrier, was the guest of honour at our 10th anniversary dinner in Barcelona, he discussed an English tour with Jeremy and in memory of Steven, we’ve created a short tour of Kent, Sussex and Hampshire vineyards, culminating in a very special dinner at 67, Pall Mall in St James’s in London. Places are very limited.

Check in to Royal Horseguards Hotel in Whitehall

Private dinner at The Farmers Club in Whitehall, in sight of Westminster, where Jeremy’s father was Chairman for the millennium year. D

Day 2. Thursday 6th March 2025

Check out and drive south to Gusbourne Estate in Kent for a private visit and lunch at one of the standard bearers of quality English wines on an estate that goes back to 1410 on the low slopes of Appledore.

Afternoon visit at Oastbrook in Sussex, run by English Brazilian couple Nick and America Brewer and renowned for fine still wines from Chardonnay to the Alsatian varietals and excellent sparkling wines with the assistance of Irish sparkling wine guru Dermot Sugrue.

Drive to Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey, base for the next 2 nights, an extensive wine estate with a casual but delightful wine hotel at its heart. We have dinner at the hotel with wines from the estate after a tasting in the cellar. B/L/D

Day 3. Friday 7th March 2025

We enjoy a private tasting this morning with Sarah Rowlands, a locally based wine educator who has travelled extensively with us and the author of the Periodic Table of Wine. Sarah entertains us at her home with some fine English wines from regions we don’t visit on this tour and one or two surprises too.

We then make the short drive to Hampshire wine country for a visit and private lunch at Hambledon, the oldest commercial vineyard in England in the village where cricket was first played in 1750. Their wines were served at the state banquet where the Queen hosted her last state visit from a US president. They are one of the premier sparkling wines in England.

After lunch we head back to the hotel where the evening is free. B/L

Day 4. Saturday 8th of March

We check out and stop at Hampton Court Palace for a guided tour on our way back to the Horseguards Hotel in London. Originally built for Cardinal Wolsey, Hampton Court became one of Henry VIII’s favourite palaces.

After a free afternoon in London, we conclude our trip at 67, Pall Mall, the founding branch of the wine club for wine lovers with a passion for fine dining and fine wines.

Before dinner we enjoy a tasting hosted by Raymond Blake, our convivial ‘Dublin Burgundian’ colleague, tasting some fine wines from Iberian Wine Tours favourite wineries, followed by a fine dinner featuring special wines to celebrate our 15 years of wine travels. B/D

Day 5. Sunday 9th March

After breakfast end of tour.
