Departing from our terminal, we travel along the scenic coastal National Highway, pausing briefly at the strategically significant Corinth Canal. As we venture into the Argolis region, home to Homer’s Golden Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site dating back to 1600BC, you'll discover the epicenter of ancient Greek civilization. Skip the lines and delve into the mythic realm of Agamemnon as you explore the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion’s Gate, and the awe-inspiring Royal Tombs, including the legendary resting place of Agamemnon Clytemnestra. Marvel at the architectural prowess of the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent structure from the 14th century B.C.
Next, we pause at the picturesque sea port of Nauplia, Greece's first modern capital, renowned for its Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortified islet of Bourtzi. After a leisurely walking tour of the city, enjoy a delectable lunch at a seaside restaurant boasting stunning views of Bourtzi islet. Alternatively, those opting out of lunch can further explore the city or unwind with a coffee.
Our journey continues to Epidaurus, famed for its ancient theatre, a UNESCO World Heritage site and birthplace of Apollo's son Asklepios, the healer. Marvel at the remarkably preserved classical Greek architecture and experience the unparalleled acoustics of the theatre, still in use today.
