About this trip

Punta Suarez e Islote Gardner

With a surface of 60 square kilometers (37 miles), this makes it one of the smallest islands in the  archipelago. It is also one of the oldest, dating approximately 300 million years. Due to the fact  that it is uninhabited, we are able to find significant wildlife species. Punta Suarez, located west of the island, has a trail of approximately 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) that  will lead you to the blowholes. Similar to geysers, the water that rises from the blowhole has been  known to reach up to 20 meters (65 ft.) in height. This natural spectacle is possible because the  water from the waves rushes through holes in the rocks. Snorkeling takes place in the islet located 50 meters (164 ft.) from Gardner beach, one of the most beautiful beaches. This place can only be visited on a sailing cruise.

Interests:

• Birdwatching: blue-footed bobby's, Nazca bobby's, endemic mockingbird, Galápagos seagulls, pigeons, and the Galápagos albatross known for being able to reach a wingspan of 2 meters (6 ft.) in length. These birds migrate to Chile by the Pacific Ocean and can only  be found on land during mating season (courtship and nesting). Between May and December, you can observe the biggest colony of Galápagos albatross currently registered.

It was a great experience. We had the opportunity to see sharks, sea turtles, sea lions during our snorkeling session in Kicker Rock. Our guide, Karen, was very helpful and nice. I totally recommend this tour. Thanks Lorena, Karen and the whole crew for such amazing experience.

Our group of 3 women (60 plus years) felt safe and well taken care of by our guide Christian. We learned a lot and had such a fun time meeting others and exploring.

I booked 3 tours with them. They spoke English, were very helpful in communicating pick up locations and times and they even made me a homemade vegan lunch for one of the trips. Isla Los Lobos was a favorite trip, snorkelling, blue boobies and swimming at the clear blue beach. I even saw a turtle.

I was originally looking to join a last minute Kicker Rock tour but every place was booked. The helpful staff member instead directed me to Isla Lobos tour that met my time constraint and also cheaper. I can't remember her name but she was working ~1700h. Thanks to her, I had a wonderful time. Our guide Antony was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The crew of Corazon Allegre was great. We got up close to boobies, frigate birds, and sea lions. But the highlight for me was snorkeling with playful sealions that got so close to me. I think I may have screamed a bit. Lots of fish around and everyone had an awesome time, even those whose first time snorkeling too. This made my visit to San Cristobal so memorable that this island may actually be my favorite in the Galapagos! Thanks everyone.
